Just thinking, should rebounds from a penalty be allowed?

Sorry if that is a silly question..

I thought rules were changed to disallow them but who knows

Would have helped if we’d have followed up the pen quicker. First player to the rebound was a Bolton player - so frustrating.

Just penalty shootouts isn't it? I can't remember it being a rule when a penalty is taken in match time.

The only thing that should be questioned is the starting position of the scorer, was he behind the line when the kick was taken or did he encroach?

Saw a video from the East Stand, dont think he encroached but why were our players just standing and watching

Yes I agree, I only mentioned possible encroachment to ask about the ‘legality’ of the goal. It was disappointing our players were slow to react as quickly

Real shame for Roberts to save it but still concede, thought he was great tonight at key moments in the game.

    Yes.

Just disappointing he parried forward so the whole goal was gaping, rather than wide to the side to narrow the angle.

I did think that myself but all his focus was to save the pen which he did.

Looked like the defence weren't expecting him to save it. Stood static while 3 Bolton players all anticipated the rebound and ran towards the loose ball. Basic defending with not one Barnsley player anticipating a rebound. If nothing else, they should at keast have blocked their runs.

The only one encroaching was Kane (I think its him anyway) but unfortunately he stands there like a lettuce.

It's one of the worst penalties you'll ever see. It's so much not in the corner that it bounces off Roberts knees

Mental that we have 5 players bunched together on the other side of the box, leaving two men free

that needs to be picked up for future reference
