The cracks were you going defensive mode from 60th minute also poor substitutions. Needed Cosgrove on when mcatee went off as Bolton number 5 won everything in air
I don't think we went defensive purposely. For me Bolton were getting no joy against us trying to play football so they went long at almost every opportunity which made it harder to press.Because of this I would have been tempted to have put MCart on for the last ten minutes.
At 2-0 we were comfortable. Going to sleep on that quick free kick ultimately cost us the win. At 2-1 we weren’t brave enough to impose ourselves and just got deeper and deeper. Cotter was a strange one to bring on and for me Cosgrove should’ve been on for Cole a lot earlier.
Whilst I agree with these comments regarding the wrong substitutions, going defensive, etc., my biggest complaint about last night, which I believe has made both a literal and emotional dent in our automatic chase (although we're still in the race), is the team lost concentration on two occasions; the quick free kick and the penalty follow-up. That's what cost us two points.
