Just back home, left after their 4th goal. Absolutely awful from us today beaten by a much better side. We were poor all over the pitch! Really missing a player to carry the ball and another player to break up opposition attacks. Awful in defence too and our strikers were one dimensional and utterly predictable. I wouldn’t fancy us against any of the top six in the play offs over two legs.
Freak result, but not a freak performance. Wev had a few this season and got away with it. Pis$ poor against Bolton same again today...... Reality check for some id say. He will be judged at the end of the season.
Playoffs, at best. We were well beaten today. 5-1 home thrashing tells you we are not good enough. It is what it is. i'm sure we can make the playoffs, I'd have taken that at the start of the season, but you always as a fan think you can do more. Tell me I'm wrong. It saddens me, as I thought, with a very limited squad & good manager we might be.
They were yards quicker than us, more alert and quicker to react. Full of energy, while we looked lethargic. Also how the hell does Adam Philips get man-of-match award? He missed a huge opportunity to make it 1-1, and game on. Big turning point in the game. Four yards out at the Ponty End, with just the keeper to beat, and instead of blasting it, he tries a cute stupid flick to Cole which is intercepted. Huge miss.
I dont think t'day was anywhere near where we should av been, playoffs, but Collins has got a lot of work ahead of him and the players need to av a good hard look at themsellves, keep the faith, C,O,Y,R.
The 2nd goal is so.bad mael and connell are good players but the Lincoln man just runs through them both. Both should have done alot better.
I had 3 quick craps this morning. Like most of the Barnsley team, there wasn't more I could give. I eat a plant based diet largely, but was DJing last night, drinking free organic / vegan beer. I have to say my output was more impressive than what I saw on the field TBH. Was crap, either way.
Just that too many had off days. If I could, I would rest Connell (I know he's our best player) but there really is nothing to replace him with....like Cole up-front...nothing to replace with. Its usually the same when we have to make subs...our team is much weaker. Well done Collins for getting this team/squad where we are but another disastrous summer of recruitment has resulted in what we have (with the exception of our two jan signings)
Everyone was awful and he’s was the only name on the scoresheet. Not sure who else you could have given it to?
Blimey there's some bad overreactions here. - Conor Grant since he's moved here on loan has been impressive and I hope we sign him permanently in the summer. - Josh Earl has also been impressive and already proven to be a good signing. - There is an area inbetween rigorously defending Collins and wanting him sacked immediately, meaning you're allowed to criticise his performance without wanting him shot. - We've just lost 5-1 at home, people will be very wound up and reactionary so if you're still fuming maybe it's best you step away from the keyboard for a few hour to calm down. - Josh Earl is not the answer at LWB.
Cole six games without a goal. Just shows that our squad is weak that we don’t have any competition breathing down his neck for his place in the team - I mean I guess it says the run can’t continue but I also thought that after 4 games.
Just for some consistency in my posts....sack the manager, sack the board, sack the squad, sack Watters twice ( just cos people hate him) and sack the sack. And on a measured note, chill out and have a beer. There are more important things in life than men kicking a bag of wind abart poorly. Onwards and downwards!
I've said it before and I'll say it again,we need shithousery.Letting Norwood leave is proving to be scandalous and I think we would be 5 or 6 points better off.
Dreadful performance and result. Nothing positive to be taken from today. I'm actually struggling to think of a poorer result from a third tier home game. However, personally I'm not turning my back on either the Head Coach, or the players.
