Remember the miracle season, could be the imps turn,thats5 wins on the trot for them,it might sound daft this but this result didn't hurt as much as Bolton hame I still havent got over that.
Fair play to the Imps and their fans , second half they looked like a promotion side . Unfortunately our better players , Cadden excepted , were awful , I don’t think I’ve seen us pass the ball to the opposition so many times
It’s what I said to my son walking home. We’re not good enough for the Championship. Usually we go up thinking we need one or two players to make us a competitive team, but of our current team there’s only one or two that look good enough for the Championship. What makes it worse is the two that I’d single out as being good enough have been awful the past few games (Connell and Earl)!
Thas not been watching us long enough if tha thinks this is the worst home result on the club’s history.
That 7-0 defeat at Reading was December 1979, the season before we won promotion and were down near the bottom of the table.
Miles away from being our worst ever result. Let's just acknowledge we were battered by a far superior team who had an approach and attitude to the game way above ours.
We were losing 0-5 to MK Dons if I remember rightly but somehow clawed it back to 3-5. That was a bad result
How old are you n how long u been going?…..I can assure there’s been far worse, was sheet tho your right pal
Collins played just one more game, a 2-1 defeat to Swindon in the next home league game. Ian Evans & Neil Cooper both made their debuts in that match.
We weren't it was our first season up we lost 3-0 at home to Wednesday first game of the season and it was all downhill from there it was a season of transition under Clarke.. both Clarke and goalie Springett never played again for us after that Reading game.. I was there and doesn't hit my top 5 worst games..
Without serious investment the club will struggle to get out of this league never mind consolidate in the championship. Iv seen nothing this season that fills me with confidence. Too many poor performances with a decent 45 mins here and there and somehow we are in the play off mix.
It was a bad result but there are quite a few worse listed above surprised no one mentioned the 6-0 defeat home to Charlton that certainly relegated us in Flickers great escape season
Posted similar in the match day thread. On one hand I want us to go up but on the other unless we get a new defence and strikeforce then it could utterly demoralising. The championship is unforgiving and there could be plenty more games similar to today.
