O’Brien, Drinkwater, Perkins, Butterfield & Vaz Te was pretty good. Shame about losing them all to injury / recall / sale in the space of a month
I agree. There's no better sight in football than a tricky winger repeatedly making a mug of a despairing full-back. Hammill, at his best, had that ability too, of course.
For every Glavin or Banks, Id have to mention Ray McHale. For Agnew, Id have to mention Gwyn Thomas. For Redfearn, Id have to mention Daz 'Norman' Sheridan. And for Hourihane, Id have to mention Josh Scowen. You can't have one without the other can you.
Shuker, Mcphail, Howard, Burns, Devaney. (Not sure if they ever did play together Burns left mid season.)
Btw following on from my earlier post, if we also want to mention Craig Hignett in that list of brilliant attacking midfielders... who would we say was the midfield work horse alongside him ?.
