Not likely but nice to think we'd sell out so we didn't have to return tickets to be sold to home fans.
I think if we bounce back from the last 2 disappointments and have some good results between now and then, we may do. We took 2,000 down there under Stendel so cost of living aside, no reason why we can't travel down in numbers again if we're still in with a shout of top 2. I'm in two minds myself and, fickle though it makes me, will be more likely to go if we win tomorrow and Saturday.
If we win both games this week and a couple of favourable results tomorrow and Saturday in the other games and we might.
The evidence suggests we won’t take more than 600 to 800. This season is a very different feeling to the Stendel season.
One of my 2 closest games - along with Reading, and I cant go which is somewhat annoying. Hoping for a postponement due to international call ups but because I actually want one this time I dont think it will happen
On what? The difference in the 'feeling'? Have you been to Oakwell this year or followed any of the media/social media. Maybe you weren't around for the Stendel year? It was one of the most joyous in watching the Reds over 50 years. Or did you mean evidence for selling between 600 and 800 tickets? League 1 away attendances. We have the 10th highest in the Division - around the 1000 mark. It will fall a bit after tonight. Portsmouth (as Father Dougal might say) is far away - so, I'd guess 600 to 800. Incidentally, fair play to Carlisle. 4th highest away attendances in the Division. And bearing in mind their position in the table and where they are situated geographically, that is outstanding. I will be there tonight.
I'd be amazed if this game is played on the said Saturday.. I'm sure both clubs would prefer this game to be kicked down the road as far as poss.. even to the extent that by the time we play it, promotion places will already be decided..
To be fair we have a better away record this season and we're taking 800 to Carlisle on a Tuesday night after the worst home performance for years.
