Should have won that at a canter but we're left hanging on again. I'm just not quite sure we've got enough quality in that back line to get promoted but I really hope they all prove me wrong. Alternatively Collins could take the shackles off and we go all out attack and just **** the defence off
After that it convinces me even more that we won’t go up we simply can’t defend even against the worst side in the league we struggle.
Considering Collins plied his trade as a defender, we are so god damn awful at the back it’s criminal.
That was so much harder than it should've been! I actually feel a bit angry watching them atm. The mistakes, poor decision making at times, lapses of concentration at others etc wind me up! I'm trying to just focus on getting 3 points.
Collins needs to get a defensive coach in because we ain't finishing top 2 or even getting to Wembley in the playoffs with the defence playing like they are and he's obviously not improving them himself
We had a good shout turned down as well. We also missed good chances as well. McAtee hit the bar, but yet again we are always lucky we can mention opposition’s near misses/ should’ve scored etc, but can we not mention ours?
If we can win the game in hand, we're 1 point behind Bolton and only 2 behind Derby... far too early to write it off.
We've done what we had to do which was win the match all teams have played tonight which means we wont be at a disadvantage on Saturday. Onwards and upwards!
I get autos still look mathematically possible, but for me we don't look anything like a side that can go past two teams to get top two, then hold them off to stay there. For me now it's just about making sure we pick up enough points to keep a top six spot. 10 points clear of 7th we should be able to do enough.
We've got defenders that don't want to make a tackle, they may as well not be on the ******* pitch if they're going to do that. Granted some of the organisation is down to Collins and he needs to show improvement in that area but I'm not sure what he can do about defenders who don't want to tackle. It's painful viewing.
I agree - plenty of twists and turns over the next 9 games. Saturday's fixtures for instance. funny game football!!
They've got quite a favourable run in. They've got Oxford a week on Saturday, and Portsmouth on the final day, otherwise I think they've only bottom half sides to play. But yeah, I'd say it's too late. They're bound to have an iffy result at some stage, and have played more games than the bottom 3 sides in the play-offs.
Reserve keeper in goal. Full back played out of position where he's useless. First choice midfielder banned. Top scorer benched. Still three points.
Having played 2 games more though. They're doing well, and have a good run in, but I think it's probably just out of their reach, and I certainly wouldn't make them favourites if they did get there. Bolton's form isn't much worse for starters.
I agree mate, we look totally unconvincing, but the picture can change very quickly in 3-4 games Bolton have had a huge wobble but they’ll be bouncing tonight. we are going through a sticky patch but you just never know….i could easily see us beating Pompey and blowing the whole thing wide open.
