Remember when this was a regular thing in the early to mid 90s, when Barclays were the League sponsors. And the England manager as well (Graham Taylor at the time), they all got together and decided on the best result/performance in the Football League. Well in fairness, I'd say Lincoln do deserve it this week, absolutely no doubt about it!. Btw I remember we won it in seasons '90 & '91, for winning away at the same team twice, can you all remember who it was against ?.
Aww ok yeah, that was a bit too easy lol. The 0-5 and 1-2 wins away at Wolverhampton won us those awards.
Molineau stadium looked bad then didn't it in 1990, but they did have the England striker Stevie big Bull lol.
The 5-0 win was the same date as our defeat to Lincoln at the weekend. And all done without a single corner during the game.
I did a stadium tour pre-season before last, and there's a performance of the week trophy in the trophy cabinet down at Oakwell for a win away at Bournemouth. Dated about 2003 iirc.
I did wonder if we'd won it as well, on some other occasions. So that win at Bournemouth must have been under Paul Hart in season '04 ?.
It will have been aye. Must have been for this result in October 2004: https://www.11v11.com/matches/afc-bournemouth-v-barnsley-30-october-2004-26322/
Jordym93 wins the performance of the week for me, for the strop they had towards Collins on Saturday wanting him out.
Ok, speaking off us mullering Wolverhampton 0-5 in that match, let's have a look at some real hard-core highlights...
We won it on the opening day (7-0 v Port Vale). Won it last season (beating Wednesday 4-2). Won it under Stendel (Posh 4-0). Won it under Struber (away at Fulham 3-0 was it?).
