All away in April 5 in 20 days Burton 1st Charlton 6th Stevenage 9th Pompey 16th Blackpool 20th. Time to call for international breaks in all 4 divisions for me. Efl Leagues finish 3 weeks b4 premier this season.. (19th may) Why ?..
Their own website only names those two as well. I did wonder about Lee Evans who signed last month but that would be stretching it since he hasn’t played for Wales for over 4 years.
It is but clubs like Ipswich and Pompey seem to do as they want. Derby too probably if they had any players young enough to still be called up….
Isn't one of the UEFA finals at Wembley at very end of May? Assuming they want the place to themselves for a week or two to plaster their branding all over it.
Here you go mate. According to EFL rules, the threshold at which teams can request for a fixture to be postponed is when three or more players are called up for their national teams — in some cases, this includes players called up for their national teams' under-21 sides if they have played a significant role that season.8 Sept 2023 Don't who the 3rd for pompey is though.
Yeah I know, I was wondering if Evans would be included as well as he’s described as a Welsh International but it doesn’t look like it.
Conor Shaughnessy was not named in the Republic of Ireland to face Belgium and Switzerland in friendlies this afternoon. Abu Kamara, who has reportedly turned down an offer to play for Sierra Leone, is eligible to play for England at age-group level along with Myles Peart-Harris. The Barnsley match has now been rescheduled for Tuesday, April 16 (7.45pm), paving the way for a potentially massive end-of-season encounter under the Fratton lights. Pushing the game back also potentially gives time for injured players to rejoin the group, with Mousinho’s squad battered by a swathe of issues. so maybe it’s in case Northern Ireland change their mind or Kamara and Peart-Harris get call-ups? Do England inform clubs and players by post ? Or maybe just surprise them on the day?
There was talk of it being Conor Shaughnessy but he’s not been called up. It’s a swizz https://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/202...cs-obrien-azaz-all-included-in-ireland-squad/
I was thinking in 2-3 seasons when Bland, Jalo, Yoganathan and others are all first team players - hopefully - and international regulars... It is not impossible that we have 3-4 first team regulars who came through the Academy and are playing international football without buying any players. Hopefully, we're also in the Championship by then. (Or don't we want success for them?)
Pompey have a very tough run in, starting with Posh on Saturday. They also have to play Derby and Bolton, so the top of the league could look different by the time we go there. If we put in a shift on Saturday and score a few goals, of course we’d all be chomping at the bit to go to Pompey, who might have had a tough game at Posh. Might not be a bad thing having a rest and letting the others scrap it out for the day.
