Definitely, promotion is the remit...... While he still has that chance, he is safe.

I shudder at the thought of him and his team in championship tho.

Any failure this season would be solely down to the recruitment, we should have had the strongest team in the division by a mile.

    Daft thread.

I get we all go through the emotions, during and immediately after the game but take a breather, count to 10 and use your brain a bit.

In defence of Collins - he had last season's central defence taken from him and pre-season recruitment was less than inspiring. We also had to cope without Luca for the first part of the season. To be even in the conversation for automatic promotion up to the Bolton game is testimony to how he has moulded a team together. Astute owners of Clubs looking for a manager prior to the 2024/25 season might think he'd be a good appointment. For us it might well be a repeat of last season, loss of key personnel and start with a new head coach.

Majority I know don't rate collins at all. I'm half and half. I don't rate his style of play. We've played wing backs too long also.

On the other hand collins has been dealt with scraps and an unbalanced squad.

Personally could give him next season

If he gets us up with the defence he had to play in the first half of the season & having to play Russell & Killip for a couple of months he deserves a statue

A Neill Collins side that is currently fifth with every leg taken away from him and more and is expected to battle against sides who haven’t got the same lack of support. Done just as good a job as Duff last season.

Thank the lord, if a 0-0 draw to Cheltenham is all it took to get rid of you again I would've prayed for it years ago.

OP has come in like a bull in a china shop, but....This team bores me. Even when we win, we never win convincingly. The style of football is slow, laboured and turgid at times. Side to side passing at the back then hoofed over the top. No guile, no creativity. We could still be playing now and we still wouldn't have scored.

I get that we're not doing badly, not at all. But there has to be more than just Scott who really dislikes how we're playing. If anything, it frustrates me all the more that we do have the points we do, whilst playing so poorly.

In all seriousness, does anyone here genuinely believe that, should we go up, that Collins, and his style won't see us with some serious hammerings next year.

We're too slow, too ponderous, too timid in our play. And we've had some serious good fortune this year which has really helped us.

It's a tough one. I applaud the team and Collins for the points tally so far, but I shudder at the thought of Collins being our head coach in the Championship. An odd take, I know.
