Watched on iFollow here in Spain and I thought we played OK, considering no Kane or Pines and with Williams and Cole inexplicably on the bench. They all gave everything and but for a dodgy offside after 5 minutes and excellent goalkeeping from Southwold, it would have been a comfortable win. Some people are never satisfied.
Well I find JAQ disrespectful using her platform in a way to moan at our supporters for having the temerity to boo what frankly sounded like another sub par performance at Oakwell.
It’s not even when we’re doing badly, even when we were winning there’s people constantly looking at point scoring against each other. There’s absolutely no united front from any part of the club and I genuinely think social media has caused it. Everyone has decided their opinion is right and there is no middle ground and if you don’t agree then you’re some sort of idiot. Not saying it’s individual to us as a club but it is the only club I care about so it’s individual to us in that way. But people do tend to use the I’ve paid my money so I’ll say what I like as an excuse to be vile, not suggesting that booing is vile of course, and the idea that you go to matches so you can slag people off personally is just insane. It’s not so much as a problem with today I’ve just tagged it onto this thread, it’s a general attitude that seems to have come in in recent years.
Williams needed a rest. Think Collins got that right. And Cosgrove earned another chance to start after Tuesday night, but he didn't really take his chances today!
Totally agree with you about social media. One of the most toxic inventions in the last 50 years. Apart from here I never go on any but even on here it gets nasty sometimes and we are all supposed to be on the same page....
Poor man's Kayode Odejayi for me. Will pop up and show quality from time to time, but mostly poor IMO.
I remember even just a few years ago the most toxic it got was people arguing with Tom Pope and calling Jennings fat, recently it’s turned into some genuinely vile abuse, especially directed at JAQ. While I think someone really needs to warn club members about the timing and content of tweets relating to club stuff, the amount of personal abuse players and staff get on there at the minute, no wonder players swap clubs like socks, I wouldn’t want to play for half of the fanbases on twitter.
I still have nightmares about that sitter at Wembley. He couldn't miss the target but he missed the target. Nah, I'm dreaming, he scored.
Yep, its disgraceful. I dont understand the 'nasty' mentality of people really. There's no logic to it, no real outcome other than showing how nasty you can be. Maybe that's the buzz.
I thought booing them was ridiculous personally. a chap who vaguely resembled Albert Einstein had a go at me as we were walking out for clapping them. I understand people were frustrated and have their right to say their piece but it is never going to help the players imho. Played quite well 1st half just wouldn’t fall for us. 2nd half was poor though.
Agreed. If only we’d scored in that early domination, it could’ve been a completely different story with us all cheering and scarf waving at full time.
