Well we had a thread about the greedy 10. I think this Tarantino is better than Pulp Fiction and Inglorious myself. What's the opinion?
Pulp Fiction is streets ahead of any other QT film. Not that the others are poor, far from it, but PF is just magnificent. One of the best films ever made.
Am I the only one not into Tarantino films. I can't get past the first 10 minutes of Pulp fiction and made 2 or 3 attempts, and Reservoir dogs wasnt that memorable. Tin hat at the ready.
Not my cup of tea either. I wasn't impressed by The Hateful Eight at all. Even Samuel L Jackson couldn't save it.
Pulp Fiction tops my list of Tarantino's films – it's like that one classic movie you wish you could experience for the first time all over again. Reservoir Dogs, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Kill Bill Vol.1, and The Hateful Eight are all masterpieces in their own right. Honestly, every single one of his movies is a hit. Jackie Brown and Grindhouse? Solid 8/10s, no doubt. It's just that with Tarantino, you kind of expect each film to blow your mind, which is why some people end up a tad disappointed. His obession with feet is on the quirky side- dirty ****** wrote himself a part drinking wine or something from Salma Hayeks foot in From Dusk till Dawn and pretty much every film he does has a foot reference. I you havent noticed it you will on every future watch of one of his movies.
I was blown away when I first watched Pulp Fiction, as you say it's an experience you'd love to have again. Jackie Brown is probably my next favourite. And as a writer, True Romance is top notch. Dusk til Dawn is, well what can you say about the last 20 mins! I was very disappointed with Once Upon a time in Hollywood, just doesn't get going really, didn't entertain me. Inglorious and both Kill Bills are excellent too, and Django. I'm not a massive fan of Reservoir Dogs. Hateful 8 is very good. Grindhouse is one I've seen once, when pi55ed, so can't really comment on it. Keep meaning to watch it sober.
Reservoir Dogs is a brilliant film that has great twist. Kill Bill is excellent as Uma Thurman is so good, and Dusk Till Dawn is a classic
Love Tarantino. Superb body of work. If I could only watch one again though, it probably would be Pulp Fiction. An absolute work of art. Think I could recite the entire script, word for word, I watched it that often.
Both Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction blew me away. The second film topping the first. Jackie Brown is right up there too, I don't understand why it doesn't get much acclaim. The rest could all benefit from at least half an hour trimming from them, often more. There are good films within them but Quentin has been given free reign throughout his career and I think he'd have a better body of work if he'd had to listen a little more, cut out the excess, and not deliver a marathon every time. Did we really need to sit through him mangling an Australian accent in Django?
Neither have I. In fact I probably haven't seen the other 6 out of the 8 but then again I doubt I know what they could be.
I like Tarantino's movies, but I've never had the urge to watch any of them over and over again. I think the only one I've seen more than once is Kill Bill, because it was one of my ex's favourite films.
