Does anyone know if Hayes Croft Dentist, off New St in town, has changed? Been going to P. Gibbons there for ages (and Mr Bainbridge before). They just phoned me to make appointment for check up but something didn't seem right somehow. Looked on interweb and it now has a fancy website. Does anyone use this Dentist? Has Paul Gibbons retired? Is it still providing NHS treatment? Are the new folk good/nice? Yes I know I could ask them, but at my age (old n retired) I'd prefer to get the low-down from the good BBS folk on here, before committing to a seemingly new dental practice. Thanks in anticipation...
Heyup. I dont know the specifics I'm afraid but as a rule the practice will pick up whatever patients are on its books even if there's a regime change. So, they're probably testing the water and testing the client base I would think. I would just book a standard check up in next few weeks so you appear 'active'. Then you can make your own mind up about the service etc...
To the best of my knowledge he's still working a couple of days at the moment. He's sold the practice though and the NHS contract constitutes the lion's share of the goodwill of the business. So yes, whoever has bought it will look to maintain the NHS list. I notice Gibbo isn't named on the website but much of the text on their site is place holder gibberish. I assume that is not meant as a live site yet. He's of an age where he will retire imminently, though, even if he hasn't yet. I did work experience with him in the 1980's when he was working on Victoria Road. You'll likely struggle to get in anywhere else as an NHS patient at the moment though, so definitely give them a go!
If it's owt like Wilthorpe Park Dental Surgery they'll just keep cancelling your appointment anyway. Broken Britain.
Ta Revvie, very useful info. I might have seen you, never know, as I used to go to Victoria Rd before starting to use their Hayes Croft place due to better car parking in area. Agree about the website, not only gibberish but most isn't even in English, which worried me. Anyway, I have made an appointment in April so will see what happens.
