Odd that a HUUUGGGE club like Derby gets a game on tomorrow. Surely they are stuffed with internationals??
They don't have to call it off if they choose to play. I reckon it's a good ploy against a weak team that should they win gives them the psychological edge on competitors.
There’s a Cobblers in Wakefield but it’s a sandwich shop or maybe it sells confectionary made with shoe pastry ??
Yes that’s understandable and given their current surge in form you can only see them getting three more points. It annoys me to even think it but I suspect they’re uncatchable now
I’m not sure it’s doing us any favours, we seem to have accepted play offs is our lot, I mean the tactics second half against Bolton, the Lincoln debacle and not beating a very poor Cheltenham last week. I’ve accepted play offs and that leaves me flat A because I don’t fancy them and B we’ve blown a golden chance we should be comfortable top 2 this league is so poor.
If our home form was just even average we would’ve been top 2. If draws and defeats at home to Fleetwood, Cheltenham and Exeter had been 3 points we’d have been sitting pretty now. Not many promoted sides have lost 6 games at home by early March.
Is Dwight Gayle injured?, I thought it said so in Chron this morning, be a big miss if he his, was starting to score regularly
Our realistic auto chances went last week,I’m resigned to the play offs and determined to enjoy the rest of the season stress free.
Although I consider Derby to be a poor, one trick pony of a side, I can’t see them blowing it now. All of the chasing sides have been so inconsistent so Derby are in the box seat to grab 2nd place. It’s a shame because apart from Portsmouth who I think are no more than competent there was a golden chance to rise above the plethora of ordinariness of the rest of L1.
Defo been a missed opportunity. Problem being that we’re always playing catch up for first dozen games. Be a whole lot more difficult next season too.
I think the difference is that both Pompey & Derby improved their squads in the January window, and have continued to do so since then, bringing in experience for the final push. We've just settled for our strong first-choice starting XI, beyond which there isn't much....
