    I played some over 35s football in Harrogate. There was a side called Harrogate Vets which consisted of some high profile names - Peter Beagrie, Craig Short, Robbie Blake, Jason Price, that I remember off top of my head, and then a load of ex Harrogate Town/Railway standard players. They were perennial champions, then went on to be regional and national champions, I believe they won an international tournament too.

    Robbie Williams played for Pontefract Sports and Social whilst playing in League 1 for us. Him and Brian Howard used to come drinking at Pontefract on a Sunday afternoon too.

    I went to school with him but I used to cringe when I saw him and his brigade of hangers on wearing Jako Barnsley training gear in spite of not knowing which way Barnsley was on a compass.

    Met him a few times in hedonism back in the day. He had a couple of goes at chatting my wife up without making the connection we were an item. Recall her saying he's pretty full of himself ( she's a worsbro lass who's not easily impressed).
