    I’d say he’s had a very good few years in the premier league for Brighton and deserves to be in the squad. Wouldn’t be starting him but good enough to be in the squad. Wouldn’t say we’re exactly blessed with loads of centre halves either to be fair.

    Not really true, in competitive games Southgate's record is pretty good... in regards to tonight's game.. no Kane, Saka... having to play Chilwell at all and two kids I've genuinely never heard of.

    I get Southgate saying it, trying not to add critique to a player in public who plays under him & has been injured consistently the past 18 months, wants to get his confidence back up. But little surprised at Cole. Maybe you are right with the bias!

    It's a strange one to me, when the ball is played through, the guy who actually scores is offside, at no time does he go back onside, as in two England players in between him and the goal before scoring.

    Stopped watching England friendlies ages ago. Glorified training sessions. Mind you, many England games leave me cold to be honest. Might change my mind as Euros kick in….hopefully.
