Good read. Looked like he'd be a world beater in the early days. Shame he had so many injuries. It would be nice if BFC could offer him a job as a mentor for the youth players

Thanks for the drop Dub-Tyke. Interesting to read how bulking kids up early on can mess there natural body development. Although we are all scrambling for Jalo to make an impact, cases like this highlight that we should allow his natural progression.

Hopefully he can get himself into a good place. Sounds like a massive run of bad luck - starting with the pressure Davey put on him to save his job.

A good man. It's a shame he doesn't have interest in coaching. Surprised he wasn't asked about Simon Davey.

Davey definitely put him in too early. I thought it was obvious that he bulked up too much too.

Seems like it’s been a combination of being mis-managed and having bad luck that’s resulted in this outcome.

Wish him well for the future.

He looked the real deal ,until someone decided he needed to bulk up.
Never the same player, lost the pace he had which gave him the advantage over the full back.
    Poor advice in my opinion.

See it with loads of players who started too young and the game took it's toll - we need to treat players like Jalo with kid gloves

    Agree pal.

Trouble is, many fans are quick to change their tune.

Walters starts and we then get a clamber of folk saying Jalo should be starting instead of him. Can’t win!

Seen it too many times - even likes of Michael Owen struggled at the end after bursting onto the scene so early. Softly softly with Fabio

I was at a pre-season friendly when we played Frickley at their ground. Reuben wasn't playing but he was with a gang of lads who appeared to be hanging to his coat tails while he was swaggering around as if he owned the place. Too much too soon although, in fairness, he does appear to have suffered more than his fair share of injuries. Wish him well for the future.

Years ago, never scored for us in a lot of games.
Went on to have a good career.

I don’t necessarily agree about bulking up.

James Milner’s been stocky since he broke through as a kid & is still playing at a good level now.

A lot of it is just luck of the draw.

You get players like Giggs, Milner, Young who’ve played a hell of a lot of football from a young age & are still going strong then you get others who never bulked up like Owen & Fabregas who were essentially done as top level footballers by the time they were 30. Could argue Rooney too.

The decision to try to turn him from a striker to a left back is possibly the worst managerial decision I've ever seen in football and it was that that ended his career before it got started imo. The injuries were caused by trying too hard to be something he wasn't
