I watched Kobbie Mainoo when he made his debut for Manchester united u18s, he was only 15 at the time. He was head & shoulders above anyone else on the pitch, incredible talent. I'll be very surprised if he doesn't get over 100 caps for England and a million & 1 caps in the premier league. So naturally gifted, and the composure for someone of his age is mental. We have such a good squad. Let's hope Southgate doesn't waste our best years of it.
Think it'd be Ramsdale mate. Johnstone/Henderson/Trafford/Butland after that... Not exactly world beaters!
Beyond fed up of defenders deliberately standing within 10 yards of a free kick. Needs to be an automatic yellow.
Don’t worry he’s just playing mind games with Serbia, reverting to 7 at the back in time for the euro kick offs.
Thought Toney was OK, but Bowens been better... the rest.....yeah, they're not in a team that's bringing home a trophy.
By that reckoning Simon Davey has been our best manager since Arthur Fairclough. It was a home tournament where we faced an aging Italian side who were there for the taking and who failed to qualify for the next tournament.
I thought he was injured for rest of season bud but maybe that's wrong (I usually am). I think it would still be Ramsdale in second spot though, especially after Pope's disaster in his last England match. He's a phenomenal shot stopper but is horrendous elsewhere. I like Ramsdale, he has a mistake in him at times but he's an excellent keeper, he fully deserved his inclusion in team of the season last year, I actually think had Southgate left after last tournament he'd be number 1 already
Another game against a top-10 ranked side we've not beaten under Southgate - his record is atrocious against them, it was 21/22% win rate before tonight - and there's been some real distinctly average squads in the top 10 over the years.
Alf Ramsey didn't have to qualify either... did nothing in the Euros and failed to qualify for the 1974 World Cup. Ramsey got the win but no other manager comes close to Southgate.
