Trump’s social media platform is about to go public and has been valued at $9 billion. $ 9 BILLION for something called ‘truth’ that spreads lies, hatred and fear. OK.
It's the best social media platform ever. Elon Musk called him and said it was the best thing he'd ever seen, ever. He said "Donald, you're the best person at technology ever. Why are you running as President, you should go into tech? You'd be the best tech person the world has ever seen". He also said he would buy it for $100 billion it was that good but Donald said no because he didn't need the money.
The cynical might suggest that it is a quick way for Mr Trump to suddenly come into a lot of the cash he needs for his court cases.
There's some salty folk on here! The guy, whether you like him or not, like his politics or not, is excellent at and in business. We get it, you're left-leaners above the age of 50 (probably) who form part of a generation that believes in free speech and freedom of expression - as long as it fits in with their world view. What has Trump taking a business public got to do with anything other than precisely what it is? What is it? A logical step for a company wishing to increase it's capital and market share and ultimately, share price. 1000's of companies have gone public before you know? Nothing nefarious with those doing it, but this is Trump doing it, so by default, it's nasty, under-handed, wicked, an attack on homosexuals and transgenders and ofcorse, PUTIN.
Except the 50+ times he's bankrupted a company. Or the thousands of times he's failed to pay contractors. Ah yep the old saying. The older you get the more progressive you get. Always happens.
I know we like to laugh at Trump, but Mar A Lago is worth so much more than 18-27 million lol. I don't know why they're attacking him on things made up or what a vast majority of business people do, when there's plenty to attack him on without doing it. His popularity seems to go up every time something happens and its mind boggling
My understanding is that the issues come from the fact that he undervalues the properties for tax purposes and overvalues them for loan collateral.
50+ times? I'll take your word for it. You could look at that from two different directions I suppose... you're either suggesting that the Multi-Billionaire is bad in business, which seems odd given that he's a Multi-Billionaire, or that he's constantly looking to succeed, and doesn't let failure get in the way of a future success, which to me shows a good mind-set. By the way, a company going bankrupt doesn't make the person who owns the company evil. There's plenty of people like you and me who've unfortunately had to declare bankrupcy. I assume you're not conflating bankrupcy with being a horrid person? And lastly, one the whole, I do find it to be accurate that the older a person gets, the more progressive they become. It's not neccessarily a bad thing, peace and love and all that - great. It only becomes an issue when those who claim to be all about acceptance, tolerance and equality treat anyone with a differing view as though they were Satan incarnate.
Are you CasualTyke by any chance? As for "good at business" he'd be richer if he'd stuck his inheritance in a stock market tracker and done nowt. This is an exercise to fund Trump (who is clearly strapped for cash given recent difficulties in meeting a bond). He's locked out from selling his shares for 6 months. The price will be artificially maintained for that period and then no prizes for guessing what will happen to the price after 6 months and 1 day. Look at the price for buying long term puts on the company - they're absurd as everyone knows what is coming. Truth Social has a userbase of fewer than 500k. It is of very little actual value.
And he did it with only a small loan of a million dollars (which turned out to be 60.7 million dollars) from his dad.
Don't forget the tens to hundreds of millions he shadily made while president with forcing the secret service and foreign visitors to stay at his hotels for inflated prices. He didn't take his $100k/year salary though so he's a really nice guy.
Say what you want about him (and I have) but even casual tyke had the sense to say stupid things without his kids as his profile picture...
" a company going bankrupt doesn't make the person who owns the company evil. There's plenty of people like you and me who've unfortunately had to declare bankrupcy. I assume you're not conflating bankrupcy with being a horrid person?" It does if you go down knowing you're going down and carry on trading taking creditors money, goods or services with you.
