If it was anybody but us the manager would be a goner , he picks virtually the same side every week ( granted there aren’t a lot of options) , but it’s the same one paced dirge , no variation so teams know what to expect. Same tippy tippy passing that takes so long to get to the oppositions area they have 11 men behind the ball, then usually a wayward hopefully cross. Today they have had a bloody long rest but come out looking scared to death, so god knows what he says to them! I’m a patient sort really and thought to get behind him and hope he would kick on but we are just going backwards, the players just don’t seem to have any fire in their bellies. I think at this stage I would gamble , get shut and hope the coaching staff can turn things round because at the moment we are still favourites to be in the play offs but we would be a walkover for whoever we got!
I'm the opposite and I'm saying stick with the head coach until the end of the season but he needs to find some solutions very quickly.
Can't defend him leaving Cole on and taking off our best player. Glad the fans let their feelings towards that show.
It's amazing, if it wasn't for our away form we'd be relegation fodder & if it wasn't for our home form we'd be 10pts clear
I can take a wild guess. Limp into the play offs despite being 8 points clear atm. Valiant 0-0 away at Bolton/Posh in the first leg. 0-3 in the home leg.
Disagree massively. Rather than it only being us, I actually think hardly any other clubs would actually sack a manager who has his team in 5th following a rebuild in the previous summer. People need to chill out. Can’t just sack a manager because we’re on a bad run.
Agree that he can’t be sacked now. Definitely think it needs looking at in the summer though if/when we don’t go up. We’ve been dogger at home all season and to be at the end of March and it just getting worse beggars belief. He’s literally tried nothing different to address things. Seems to me like he coaches rigidly from a manual and has no ideas whatsoever on how to change it when he needs to.
As you are entitled to, that's why its a forum for opinions and everybody is entitled to one! I've calmed down a bit after yesterday's debacle, but even then I think he's shot his bolt. I wasn't advocating getting shut because we are on a bad run ( I've seen plenty of them over a lot of years) but our home form is more than a bad run and to me to keep churning out the same tactics against every team especially the ones at the bottom is madness, they always know what to expect and set up accordingly. That performance yesterday really was extra abysmal in a long line of abysmal home performances, after two weeks break we looked no better, Christ knows what he coaches them at. If you take the own goal as a one off rush of blood, we ( yet again ) left a player **** loads of room for their second . We looked clueless up front ( again), Cole looks a shadow of his early season self and consistently just fails to get on the end of crosses ( surely that's something they could work on )but we persist with the same front two until its too late to make a difference, who knows make a change and maybe one might bounce in off Watters shin or arse! I have never been one for sacking managers at random and have backed Colins so far, but yesterday he seemed extra clueless. BTW I would love nothing better than to see us rally and to prove me wrong, but there wasn't even a glimmer of a spark in yesterdays performance.
"Collins can only work with what he's been given" folk say ....... I could accept that to a degree after a poor summer and window, but he's had 40 odd games with them now and to not get a tune out of them is concerning. I'd even suggest we are going backwards. To have 14 days to prepare for a home game and make a statement, yet put out a performance like that makes me shudder TBF. We've seen some dire teams at Oakwell this season, Carlisle, Burton, Cheltenham, Cambridge, but that team in Red yesterday trumps the lot. The recruitment side of the board is pants, as is the public face / mouthpiece, JAQ. So whilst I see a case for getting rid of NC I am filled with dread at who they might give us next. And from which league? Mozambique 2nd tier would be more likely then a proven gaffer, or a Hecky, Warnock. And their mission statement "we want a brand of attractive, attacking football and will recruit a coach accordingly" has gone right out of the window. So my trust in them is at a current low. So yes, I do not know where we go from here.
Given the appalling personal abuse towards her on there after the Cheltenham game, I don't blame her! Disagree with her and argue a point, absolutely yes, but no need for the stuff she got.
He needs to do something to get us over the line. I'd start by making them quicken up their passing and movement and shoot the minute they're within sight of the goal. Pressure would have panicked Cambridge 1 -0.is always nervous and a goal before half time would probably have them crumble. Bet theor fans couldn't believe their luck yesterday!
