Negative tippy tape side to side backwards football every week it's depressing to watch the can't be a single person in the ground over the Neil Collins or zappy with those tactics and it's not a one-off it's a weekly thing. Sure we're hanging onto a playoff place but that's because this league has absolutely zero quality in it and we've got aside barring a few changes that got to Wembley last year. Of course we're in the playoffs because taking over from duff was the easiest job in football for Neil Collins. Get shut of him. get shut of him before he drives the fans away. How the hell do our owners expect people to pay a price increase to watch that s**** again next year? Why would anybody hand over their hard earned cash to watch that dross? People can blame the defenders for making individuals all day long but they shouldn't be passing it between each other to start with to keep making those the ball should be going forwards not backwards. It doesn't matter if one of our strikers gives the ball away or if Adam Phillips gives the ball away but when 99.99% of our play he's between earl, mccart and MDG then basic logic and the simplest understanding of statistics dictates that the mistakes are likely to happen somewhere between those three week after week and when it inevitably does it's a goal conceded again. We can blame mdg today, Williams last week, earl the week before or mccart but maybe it's about time we started looking at the common denominator which is Neil Collins' pathetic negative backward tactics putting us under pressure. He's completely lost the fan base. Is decisions a constantly booed and jeered and is being mocked by the fans chanting the name of the player he's just taken off. Get him gone before the 25th of April or there will be a lot of empty seats next year. I notice when the fans were booing after the game that the players still had the bottle to come over and applaud even when they were getting booed but the gutless manager never made it past the halfway line before scuttling off down the tunnel.
He won't get fired. The board will already be in panic mode, while ever they are in the playoff positions there's every chance of promotion which they won't want cause they cannot afford to be in the Championship. They won't/don't want to spend money so they will just come back down
Completely disagree with that. It's costing them literally millions of their own money to support us in league 1
They can't afford to stay in this league either because they won't keep getting the amount of season ticket renewals if stagnation in L1 or worse is all they have to offer fans
Explain that logic please. You do know how big the financial gap is between championship and league 1 don't you? if you don't then it's around £ 8 million .
Defended him all season but today was the straw that broke the camel’s back. We have had zero, literally no enjoyable home games since day 1 of the season. We are in the top 6 despite our coach, not because of him. No plan B, and plan A is dull, boring and predictable. In any walk of life, the job of a manager is to make the team greater than the sum of its parts. How’s that going then?….
Do you honestly think we could put together a team to compete in the Championship with 8 million, a player costs more than that these days for that league. You will then no doubt be one of those that moans week in week out that they are losing
But you are happy to be £8 million a season worse off? You do realise just to stay afloat these owners still have to pump a few million a year in to the club year on year. The TV exposure/revenue the better sponsorship deals the higher gates from our own supporters alone the more away supporters putting money in our coffers League 1 is rank and I'd just be happy for us to compete and battle in the championship than the dross we often have to witness. If you think our owners are happy with our league 1 status over the championship then I have serious concerns about how you think our football club should be run.
Looking at the bottom 3 in the Championship perhaps the owners might be happier for us to be in League 1 next season with some derbies against Huddersfield, Wednesday and Rotherham in prospect. Increased revenue for a lower outlay next season.
On this occasion I'll speak on behalf of our owners. They would rather we got promoted for 8 million, bigger crowds, more sponsorship etc.
And you’re happy with the actual performances? Not thinking we should be aiming for top 2? Edit: sorry not meant to come across as antagonistic but with the squad we have, in relation to this league, imho we’re vastly underperforming
A few have been utter crap.. often one good half, but the fact that we've scored a lot of goals from open play is usually a good sign. I guess it's personal choice but I've enjoyed a lot of the games.
But overall, away results have been promotion form. Surely this is an indication that we’re maybe doing okay?
"Negative tippy tape side to side backwards football" Scored more than at this stage last season. "barring a few changes that got to Wembley last year" Those changes being the loss of the entire back 3, all of whom are now playing at least as high as 7th in the Championship. Don't get me wrong, the past few weeks have been cack but the main reason for likely not going up automatically isn't Collins, it's the fact that last year we had 3 defenders who were clearly above this level and this year we don't.
