To the board, Hope you have a financial contingency plan in place for next season when you sell 2 and half thousand season tickets LESS than this season

Yes they have. They will sell our better players and replace them with inferior ones

Get rid of the Cryne's we've gone downhill massively since their involvement. I wish John Dennis had secured a bigger overdraft because at least he had some bol lo cks and ambition.

Same as every other club. Hopefully we continue to get good fees though now. Its certainly not a short term project.....

The impact of 2500 season tickets on revenue is around £600k.

Losses are expected to be around £5m-£6m based on current revenue and costs. This year those losses will be offset by transfer profit from the sales of Andersen, Kitching and Collins.

The real problems start next year. Our saleable assets look minimal, Styles? Connell, Jalo. On current performances it’s hard to make a case that the club could raise another £5m meaning more cash is required from the owners just to keep the club operational.

Up to date they have put in over £24m in purchase and ongoing support. As investors let’s just hope they have deep pockets and are willing to continue to fund the club.

I just don’t get what motivates them to keep putting in so much money. Thankfully they’ve done it so far but for how much longer? It’s the reason why we’ve been signing the likes of Shepherd, Lopata, Shaw and Dallas. It’s why we needed to get to the Championship this season, just for the additional £7m revenue.

Makes you wonder doesn't it what the owners are doing to try and avoid weakening the team to make cash

What does a bigger overdraft mean?

Means more chance of bankruptcy when it goes belly up. John Dennis was good at the time but footballs changed a hell of alot since the 1990s

This post sums up everything that's wrong with English football. A third tier, bog standard football club requiring huge investment just to stand still. Let's face it, the finances or lack of them, mean they don't have any chance of competing at a higher level. What's the dream? Scrapping in the bottom six of the Championship? No thanks.

It doesn’t though, Luton didn’t need huge investment when they won the league a few years back, Plymouth didn’t, Lincoln have had money put in every year but nothing like £5m.
Clubs choose to do this because they are chasing the dream.
