Why didn’t Roberts just dive on it with his hands - he tried to go for it with his feet and then realised it was too far beyond him and slipped and did neither.

Nowt mistyfing about the lad's name. He's descended from french nobility and his family name is Durand de Gevigny.

The obvious thought is that it was a back pass.

What’s the worst that would have happened - certainly much less than just giving a goal away.

I'm just pointing out the fact...not endorsing the decision.

I thought that Mael had been unsettled by Lyle Taylor - not just Mael btw, he was doing the same to McCart and Earl too. And in this moment, Mael fought for and won the ball but remained aware of Taylor's presence and played it too hard and without looking. I don't like Taylor but he's undoubtedly a player that upsets and unsettles his opponents and I thought he did in this incident. I think Gary Monk would be congratulating him on it at half time.
I was glad when he went off injured but if anything the lad who came on (Ahadme?) upset our back line even more. He bullied us, as have too many centre forwards this season.

Which, for me, is why keepers shouldn't be doing it. Time would be better spent training in coming for crosses, commanding goal area etc
