The inmates are taking over the asylum. This site is progressively polarising genuine 'supporters' or 'happy clappers' as they have been referred, from 'doom mongers' who seem to revel in preaching the club's demise. In the name of sanity what purpose would sacking the manager serve, with us, at the last leg of the season, pushing for promotion either by the top two or via the play offs.?
That's interesting. Anyone who is positive about our situation is a genuine supporter, anyone who isn't is reveling in the clubs demise and you say this board is polarising supporters? I'd say it's you doing that
The toxic behaviour of some of the fans in the West Stand I witnessed on Friday is definitely effecting the team. It's unreasonable to shout verbal abuse at players or head coach just because the games not going our way. Really need the fans behind the team like Wembley play off final v Fowls.
Weird. I’m seeing the exact opposite. I’ve seen plenty of posts of genuine concern responded to by “give your head a wobble” or dismissed as “fannies”. The handful of posters on here that do seem to enjoy being proved right after every defeat are usually called out. The other handful that seem to be genuinely enthralled by every move the club makes, however moronic, seem to enjoy a pile-on.
They’ll be employed by championship clubs but won’t be featuring much. Kane might be a starter but the rest will be bench warmers at best at that level. Cadden’s part of a much weaker defence. Phillips has had a very good season after a slow start. Connell’s had a serious illness & missed the first 3 months of the season. I can’t believe anyone is holding that against the manager. Cosgrove deemed surplus to requirements at Birmingham & Plymouth didn’t want to keep him. I’m not convinced he’s that proven. Earl’s had good spells in his career but has been error prone throughout. O’Keeffe was part of the defence of one of the worst teams to ever play at this level last season. Saying he’s proven at league one level is a bit like saying Poya Asbaghi is a proven championship manager. Huddersfield fans were happy to see the back of Russell & he was crap for Duff too. The big issue all season has been the back 3. It’s been our weakest area of the team throughout. We tried to address it with the signings of Earl & Pines & then lost Pines too. You need a decent defence for the attacking players to have the freedom to play at their best. It’s really that simple.
Reminds me of when Wednesday had their mini collapse last season and this place laughed at the insanity of their fans wanting to sack Moore.
Most of these players are currently at the highest standard they've played. Roberts..apart from 4 games for Middlesborough all Roberts games have been lower league. Williams has played in the Championship for us..Afaik no one has tried to buy him. Kane had 7 games for Hull in their last relegation season and 30 odd for Donny in L1...Championship strugging club might sign him. McAtee...this is the highest standard he's ever played in...but is pretty good and he will get a Championship shirt IMO. Cole...all lower league or Scottish football ..might well get a move based on his tally this season. Russell only made 21 appearances in two seasons for Huddersfield inc 3 as sub...before his free transfer to us.I doubt anyone on this forum expects to see Russell above L1 again. Cosgrove...since he left Scotland in Jan 2021 he's scored 14 goals in 107 games. O'Keefe's career has been Mansfield 13 games, Rochdale 43 games and Forest Green. 41 games...so mainly a L2 player. Earl...in the last 6 years a series of short term L1 loans, 61 games in L1 for Fleetwood...agreed proven at L1. Connell had 10 games in L1 for Bolton in 2019 and 38 games in the Scottish 2nd tier. Cadden has played most of his football in Scotland or L2 with Forest Green. Phillips...proven L1 , never played higher.
Okeffe was a wing back for forest green and got alot of assists in a team that were awful so I'd say he is proven at this level.
Whether Collins is the right man long term or not, it would be beyond madness to sack a Coach at this stage of the Season. Pure Chansiri.
Alot of assumptions and I disagree. Although we have a head coach who's only ever managed a soccer team in the mls before coming here. You say no ones tried to sign this player and that, how do you know. I know for a fact clubs have enquired about j Williams and Cole last summer. Kanes been one of our best players this season if not the best. He will be in the championship next season. Birmingham paid 2million for Cosgrove and he took a big pay cut to come. Connell could play in the championship comfortably. Collins is blessed to have players like he does at this level.
No one put a decent bid in for either,,,both you and I know they would have been gone either pre season or in January had that been the case. Cosgrove was out of contract at Birmingham and would have been without a club at the start of February, so he swapped 5 months of Birmingham wages for a 2 year contract with us. Connell and Kane are doing well in L1, the Championship is a big step up...we'll see.
Fair do’s I’m wrong if he’s scored them from open play. If the assists are mainly from free kicks then they’re a bit of a waste for us as he never takes them.
Ive voted NO, don't sack him, and thats even after the appalling Cambridge debacle on Easter good Friday. Even though I was seriously peed off with that performance and result, I've said that I think Neil deserves the full season. But...
