The Collins situation will sort itself out at the end of the season. If we fail to go up via the play offs then I expect his future will come under threat. However for now we need to get behind him and the players.
What a very typical of our season day today. Two halves and almost two completely separate games. Bizarre and clearly erroneous team selection, woeful first half. Brings on two players with attacking intent at half time, and one of them turns the game around for us with a much better team performance overall too. It is both concerning we’d be so poor first half as it is encouraging that Collins was able to change it and get a reaction. I think he muddled his thinking today, but we ran out comfortable winners in the end - and further extend the great away record. He’s a confusing character to get a gauge on is Collins, but he certainly got it as right in the second half as he got it wrong first. On to Charlton.
Enjoyed that. Better side throughout but carried little threat in the first half. McAtee & Phillips looked like they took been dropped well & seemed fired up. You reds
70 minutes of dross and three shots on target. Hit the back of the net and you're a hero. Hit the post from two yards out and you're not. Fine margins.
They were both crap on Friday, they didn't deserve a start (not that I could put forward a good case for anyone being a first choice at the moment). We've been rubbish since 60 minutes into the Bolton game, it needed a shake up and some of the regulars needed a shake up. It worked, we won 3-1 and that second half was as dominant as we've been for a while.
That’s just a stupid attitude, people wanting to be ‘right’ rather than us win. I’m not impressed with Collins and wouldn’t complain if he was replaced, but I’d much rather he turns it round and we win every game. Replacing managers isn’t cheap. think Max Watters is rubbish and would happily see us sell him, but I’d be much happier if he scores a hattrick every game. Last summer I’d have happily seen Cole replaced, but I was far happier when he started scoring loads. Just wish he’d start again. The summer before, I, like most Reds fans, would have got shut of Kitching, but he ended up my favourite player last season. I’m quite happy to have my mind changed by whatever evidence lies before me. We needed that second half there. Collins definitely needed it. Had we lost today we’d have been hanging on for the play-off spot. Be nice to get another win soon, as Lincoln and Oxford have to play each other, so another win could put one of them out of the picture.
Fair play, very good second half. Russell was very good, McAtee very good and can't fault 3 seconds half goals. Onwards and sideways, as they say!!
Mind boggling away record in comparison to home, had we lost once at home all season and the records were switched Collins might be getting it easier possibly
