Our record there is 4th worst against the current L1 teams P 27 W 3 D 8 L 16 The 3 wins were consecutively in 2008,2012 and 2014. Following those we have lost the next 3 They have done well against top teams only losing by more than 1 goal to Bolton. They don't score many but also don't concede many. A win would be a great result
When I went to Charlton I saw Kim Christensen score his one and only goal for us. If he can score there, our current bunch are more than capable of doing the same.
from a Charlton board after yesterday " Seems pretty clear that we got a vital bounce when Nathan Jones replaced Appleton, but that the bounce has gone, and our players have returned to their natural level of shitness. I can’t recall disliking a squad of Charlton players this much. If they were playing at the bottom of my garden, I’d pull the curtains. They are bereft of talent & personality. A shout out to Stevenage - 8th in the table, a better footballing side than us, and with a few players including their No.2, no.5 and No.7 (Macdonald) who impressed, and would walk into our side. Ladapo the Lamppost was particularly bad today, and the Dobson / Coventry midfield creates nothing. 47 points from 41 games in League One is shameful, but today’s performance goes a long way to explaining why. Our worst team in generations. Needs binning !!"

Grant McCann was McCarnt when he missed a Dave Regis sitter at the death. Still a good day though. All four sides singing Swing Low Sweet Chariot as England won in the Rugby World Cup.
I’ve only been there once for an opening day defeat. I think Clive Mendonca got a hat trick for them and I had to pay twice for the privilege. My late mother’s next door neighbour, Lynda, had promised to get me a ticket and meet me outside the ground - she travelled down from Barnsley while I was on the train from Gloucester. Traffic delayed her long enough for me to go to the box office to buy another ticket (should have just done that in the first place!). I think she got in close to half time and, of course, I did the decent thing and paid her for the ticket I couldn’t use. Not a very Happy Valley that day. PS. RIP Lynda Ross. Taken too soon…
Personally if somebody asked me who we were playing the next Saturday my answer would be Charlton & a week on Saturday Reading
For those going to the game Aslef has an overtime ban on Saturday so trains may be cancelled or running to a different timetable
