Weird thing is, most are saying no to promotion but yet still the majority want to keep Collins...... Bizarre
Don't think he's the major issue. I don't go a lot to be fair so I don't have to sit and watch the performances each week but the main failings are from above Collins. He was never ever likely to succeed this season when the board chose to replace Andersen, Thomas and Kitching with non league players and one from French third tier. We've had to play one of the best RWBs in this division out of position in CB where he's not great just because they failed to add the appropriate quality in the summer. Most of those we signed in the summer, are either mainly on the bench or loaned out cos they aren't good enough. MDG is the only one we actually bought in the summer that starts regularly. A season of missed opportunity, because the board tried to do the summer window on a shoestring budget.
That's obviously true. It would have been interesting to see what fans' opinions would be if our away results had been achieved at Oakwell and our home results away. One would expect that there would have been fewer expressions of dissatisfaction with Neill Collins.
Absolutely no comment!, seeing as the person asking this question seems to think that the 4th tier is our true level.
I did not say that and you damn well know it. I said we are a lower level side now. I don't really think L2 will ever be our fate, but I can see us yo-yoing between the championship & L1 as long as the present regime are in charge.
While the league position says we have done well this season, and we have, if we make the playoffs i will be surprised if we make the final. I just think we don't have enough quality and don't seem to have what it takes when it comes to those pressure points for success. Im not sure we know the best starting line up and seem to have built a style that starts with containment first before attack. we seem to have bottled it when automatics have been in our hands, irrespective of the opponent. I would love us to go up and see how this board applies itself to another championship campaign
"3rd-4th tier is our new level." So no dragon tyke you didn't say that yo-yoing between tier 2 and 3 is what you can see, you very clearly stated that 3rd and 4th tier is our new level.
Why’s that bizarre? I hoped we would get into the play offs but we’re weaker than we were last season so I didn’t expect it (especially not at the end of August) and the play offs are only a 1 in 4 shot.
We can beat Peterborough and Bolton on our day.. it just depends if we turn up or not.. play like we have for the last month and we've no chance.. but I don't fear the others.
Agreed SC. They are good enough, but they lack resolve & belief. If thay go into the P.O'S with desire and ruthlessness then yes they can do it. Sadly I think they will go out with whimper.
