Another very poor performance......I'm trying to think what riles me most...I reckon its our passing...its awful. I can forgive professional footballers a lot...I mean our application is ok, its just our inability to pass and control a football. Congratulations to Stevenage it could and should have been 3 or 4 or even more in the end. We look woeful at the moment...first and second half...just very poor.
To be clear, during my pretty long association with the club we’ve always sold our best players (with the odd exception). But until the last few years I always felt we were trying to build a team. Now it appears we are either just pursuing a survival strategy and/or hoping to make some sort of profit, all based on short-termism. This close season is going to be really tough because there are no obvious candidates for cashing in on. Perhaps Jalo will generate a bit of revenue if someone is willing to take a punt.
Make it stop it is actually painful to watch now and the sooner the season ends the better we would only embarrass ourselves if we reached the playoffs although we might end up dodging em at this rate.
We've 4 in the wall and 1 standing a yard and half away yet again, leaving an inviting gap, yet again, yet "we learn from it and move on"
That’s the biggest concern for me. Stevenage out ran us, out pressed us and out worked us, which are all essentially the same thing but I’ve said it three times in three different ways for dramatic effect. Kane was good when he came on and MUST start every game until the end of the season to give us any chance of getting in the play offs.
Not sure how Collins is going to talk this result up, admittedly we were denied what looked like a blatant penalty, but we offered nothing at all. We never looked like scoring and seemed clueless when we had the ball. Fair play to Stevenage, they deserved the points.
I've been sat on the fence all season in regards to the head coach and players but it's becoming more apparent in recent weeks that something isn't right off the field. Do the players not want to play for Collins? We look an absolute shower at the moment and I don't see how this gets sorted for the play offs.
Correct. They leave a gap in the wall, as on Saturday which is exploited yet again. Awfully poor organisation; we learn NOTHING from Saturday. And earlier, a 100% bottle job by the ref for the foul on Cole in the box.
I thought Kane and Cole both put effort in, the blame lies squarely with Collins who is ruining this group of players.
We're such a soft touch at the moment. I'd hazard a guess that even most L2 sides, if they put a shift in and got the ball forward, would comfortably beat us. I predicted 10th-12th at the start of the season, so for us to be 5th, with the utter bilge we're witnessing on the pitch, is frankly astonishing. That said, I think I've seen all I can stomach from Collins. What he's done to these players....this team is absolutely criminal. With a heavy heart, it's Collins out for me.
Absolutely no problem with selling, I know it is required for a club at our level. All about the replacements tho, and the recruitment in the summer was an absolute disgrace and that includes the head coach appointment.
Winning game after game after game in the championship and every player knowing their role inside out would have got boring to watch though.
