To our team in the last 8 games 2 wins and 2 draws. I fancied us for automatic when we played Bolton, but now I’m wondering whether we can make the playoffs. If Collins takes us to the playoffs with the defence he was left with I don’t think we have reason to complain, whether you like him or not, but the way we’ve dropped off on the run in is shocking. Lost the dressing room? Contracts not offered, or signed? Lack of confidence all round? I don’t know! We are throwing the season away game by game.
Luck has run out and opposition players have punished the regular mistakes that previously they were missing. It's as simple as that.
We’ve been ***** all season apart from the start of the year, we seemed to get a few good results and a few big attendances but after the Bolton game we’ve proper bottled it. Defensively awful, passing is shocking, no one’s willing to take charge and grab the game by the scruff of the neck. We don’t deserve the play offs, I’m nearly 100% certain we won’t make them.
Been sussed out tactically, defensively been poor all season bailed out by Roberts saves and the goals of Devante, both players having their worst spell of the season combined with a defense that's got worse. Put all those ingredients together and your seeing us collapse.
We aren't the only fans to have a bad day. Spare a thought for Aldershot. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/27218133/gateshead-aldershot-called-off-last-minute-national-league/
How can we not blame Collins, asking league 1 defenders to play like John Stones. We are set up for an half arsed press and just invite pressure onto us. 10 passes between the defenders then a long ball up front is not going to work. Have we got worse defenders than half of league 1 no we haven’t, we could have any of the defence from any league 1 team with the tactics he plays and it will be the same results
I didn’t want to believe the rumours I read on Saturday about the players who are leaving not been allowed to start but I think they’re probably true. I don’t believe for a second that Collins thinks Russell is a better option than Kane. Kane’s been a pretty much ever present all season & Collins has left him on regularly for 90 minutes even taking Phillips off before him.
We’ve been winning ugly all season and now the wins have dried up we are basically just god damn ugly.
Who's controlling the narrative of not starting players who are leaving? Collins or above Collins? it's petty as **** if this is true and needs to stop. Players come and go and if they get a better deal than we can afford so be it, but its an insult to the service they've given the club by dropping them, it's pathetic if true
It's tin-pot and childish. 90% of what the Club does is tin-pot. I'd put my house on this being true.
I was going to ask if Kane has a knock, only reason I could think why he’d start Russell ahead of him, until now. But then, what’s the point in half-dropping him/them? They shouldn’t be in the squad if it’s punishment for leaving or should be starting if they were being grown up and accepting the situation.
I've lost faith in Collins but I really can't believe he would purposely leave out some of his best players at the risk of ruining our playoff hopes and potentially his own career, I genuinely think he's trying to scapegoat players for recent results but always end's up having to go back to them because no-one performs any better.
