Why "poor sods"? Supporters have a choice whether to go to games or not and BFC have a lot of loyal supporters.
A tongue in cheek comment based on recent performances. But yes, let’s take it seriously and state the obvious.
Good day out. Looking forward to it, even if the match might be an inconvenience compared to the rest of the day. We were always going to sell out.
Jeez. I was just having a joke based on the last two away games and the fact that Blackpool is a bit of a dive - it wasn’t meant to be taken seriously. Of course it’s great support and I applaud those that are still willing to travel and spend their hard earned cash no matter how bad the team have been playing. I sincerely hope they have a great weekend and are celebrating a brilliant reds performance and 3 valuable points.
I went to Blackpool for an FA Cup game a few seasons back and parked in that big car park not far from the ground, next to a dual carriageway (I think). Decided to have a walk along the sea front and some of the streets leading off it. I had a couple of hours to spare. I’d not been there for well over 30 years - maybe even 40 or more - but my God, what a dump! You couldn’t pay me to take a holiday there
Just imagine what a bloody day out that could have been if we hadn't given up after the Bolton game....
There are two types of people in this world, people who like Blackpool, and people who pretend that they don't like Blackpool.
I once nailed a lass from Chorley, met her in Gran Canaria. Went over to Chorley to meet her for a night when we got back to England too. Reyt mucky cow.
Went on train a few seasons ago train stopped at Blackpool and the chant coming out of the train station was "blackpools a shithole I wanna go home" I wasn't singing I was just walking behind the quite large group. Funnily enough I overhead this old dear say to her mate "cheeky sods there from barnsley and there singing blackpools a shithole". Made me laugh. I actually like blackpool for a away day and night out I can see why its like marmite though.
Was stood outside Bloomfield Road many years ago, when the great Stanley Mathews walked along the road (not in a posh car) off the bus I think, and spoke to me ( a young lad) as he passed. Great player and a true gentleman.
To be fair if Blackpool is a dump I couldn't think of a word for where most of the rest of us live. Our towns full of Greggs, pound shops, bookies and charity shops. I think Pleasure Beach, Zoo, three piers, Tusuards, Opera House, Winter Gardens, Sealife, Tower etc beats all that.
And some on here said we'd be nowhere near selling out! - great support yet again. Let's hope the team give their loyalty some reward now. COYR.
