I wonder if the club/board take any notice of the various forums?

I understand that Twitter is an appalling place to be, I don't look at it, but there are some others like here where there are some intelligent people making intelligent comments.
Surely, but I couldn't vouch for it, the owners, board, senior staff do know what is being said out in the big wide world about the style and approach to how we are playing the game.
Are they so thick skinned and stubborn that it means nothing and they will bat on regardless or does it grind away in their minds that maybe they could be handling things better and that the fans actually do know as much as they do when it comes to on the field matters.
We don't run the business but we see the results of it and right now we are not happy.

Our different boards over the years have always been aware of the BBS and read it. Why wouldn't they? It is opinions and ideas given by the fanbase for free.

The BBS is BFCs proof reader. How many times have they cocked up a publication and people on here have pointed it out. Minutes later its been corrected.

It's been said many times over they do read this BBS.

    However, what do we want...

    A) a coach who is free to implement his own ideas and style of play

    B) a board interfering because he's playing **** football

We can't have both, and often option B is peddled out on here almost weekly

The loudest voices on here don't speak for me. However, whenever there is a poll, I'm much more in line with the majority view.

An opinion continually repeated by a small group remains a minority opinion even though it is heard a lot.

Same on X. Until the @Undercover_Tarn account broke the scoop on how bad those behind Hex were, which lead to us ending our deal with them, they didn't have a clue.

    I wouldn't imagine so. I hope they're too busy.

    Definitely option A

Build the best squad available within the budget and let the head coach work out how he wants to play, rather than recruiting a second rate wingback because someone else has decided that's how we should play and we need a name to fill said position.

Wasn’t it Hitler(or one of his cronies) who said if you repeat a lie often enough it becomes the truth(because people believe start to believe it).

Anybody who runs a football club has to be thick skinned to a point (I'm not talking about mindless abuse) when it comes to criticism and grounded when it comes to praise.
A sensible board will look at all things relating to the performances and think both in the short term and longer term. They wont knee jerk if the team are having a bad time but equally they won't be so stubborn as to not change things for the better even if that means major changes like replacing a manager or altering recruitment strategy. I think we have a committed board but they make fundamental mistakes (which I can't be bothered explaining cos I've already rambled on)

I agree about the board having to be thick skinned but the abuse Nareev and especially JAQ get after losing a couple of games is without doubt uncalled for and would make some consider there position at the club.

Didn't the board clearly state that they decided our gameplan would be the high press?

If so, has that now been ditched because we certainly aren't playing that high tempo press anymore.

    I believe they did.

But the board will do periodic reviews against such targets and measurements.

If they plan on doing a review every 6 months (for example) then you would expect a warning to be made if it's not what he was implementing and agreed to when signing up.

I wouldn't expect the board to fire him after 3 defeats and not doing it, a more longer term review period will be needed. He (Collins) as part of those reviews might also provide ample reasoning/mitigation as to why it's not happening. Something the board may also accept.

We don't know what's going off behind the scenes to that end (if at all)

It creates a bigger problem if the first team are not adhering to that tactical strategy. It was the whole idea to play the same throughout the academy as well. So any player brought in from the U21's or 18's will be like a fish out of water. When we got it right under previous managers it was good football to watch and we dominated teams. IMHO we need to move back to that style in the 1st team. We can't accept the argument that he hasn't got the players for it, as if it was the clubs chosen style, the recruitment of players 100% in each transfer window should reflect that.

Pretty obvious that we have abandoned it because we have a serious lack of pace throughout the entire squad now. So a dodgy formula in the spreadsheet to blame.
