I backed him at 300/1 but only a parnd e/way, got bubba at 200/1 four quid e/way, conditions will suit Bubba i'm hoping.
He’s won a couple at Augusta so he obviously likes the course but I’ve no idea how he’s been doing on the rebel tour. He could certainly knock a long ball at his prime.
He's doing really well and hope it continues. It's a tough ask for him to play four consecutive days at this standard.
How do they settle this bet, DB3000? It seems McIlroy finished tied in 17th, but up to and including -1 includes 31 players. I didn't dabble in the end, but I'd be interested to know if this situation treats the Irishman as a 'winner' at the full odds of 2/1?
Theoretically, the odds are offered on the basis that they would have to pay out on 20 people, so if they have to pay out on 31 people, the total payouts will relate to a specific “ total payout “ divided by 31 and not 20. I can’t really put it any better sorry
The round hasn’t completed yet but I’d expect a payout of about £35 on a bet of £100 ( just for example ). Some bets of this type will include all ties as payouts but it wasn’t stated for this Rory bet Similar rules to a dead heat finish
This is what I wondered, but was it a market where odds were offered for every player to make a Top 20 Day One finish, or was it just a 'special' on McIlroy? If the latter, then I suppose Bet365's rules will have specified the exact conditions.
Actually, just looking on 365's site, their Golf rules state that on Top 2/3/4/5/6/7/8/9/10/20/30/40 Finish 'Dead-heat rules apply'. I think there were 12 players occupying the final Top 20 slot on -1. So presumably it's full odds to one-twelfth your stake. So on £10 that would be 2/12 *10 = 1.66 plus £10 stake = £11.66 return. I think! Unless special rules applied. Still a winning bet!
Having Googled "bet365 dead heat rules golf" this comes up.... Dead-heat rules apply. In the event of Ties, winning selections will be paid in full. In the event of a tie for a finishing position the tied position will count. For example, a tie with 5 other players for 8th place will count as a finishing position of 8th. Have to wait and see. Currently I have a cash out of a couple of quid under half the stake.
Be interesting to know how they settle this for you, DB. The cash-out offer suggests you're in a winning position. Hopefully you (i.e. McIlroy) won't be overtaken by players from the 27 matches still to complete!
I did 9 holes over an extended lunch break ......... then came home to put the Masters on. Can't help thinking that at least 80 spectators here would be in mortal danger if that was me teeing off
