I didn’t realise there was going to be a swimming pool on the track.

The woman’s kit has got to be a swimming costume, no way are women expected to run and jump in that.

This is Keely Hodgkinson, couple of years ago. Nothing new.

That at least covers her pubic region. And it being like that for a while doesn’t make it any better.

There's usually a few options re actual design/shape.

The question is amongst the various styles of kit made, should a woman be allowed to make the choice to choose a style that offers a potential competitive advantage (apparently) but is more revealing and therefore sexual? Or should the woman have the choice taken away from them and told they are not allowed to wear that?

It looks purple as well - what happened to the good old red , white and blue. Fox news will be straight on the case :)

Aside from the obvious …. Why is it a different colour to the men's kit? Surely they are one Olympic team?

    Not remotely the same thing.
I wouldn’t fancy running in Keely Hodgkinson’s gear, but this Nike design is like asking fellas to do 100m in a Borat suit.

The mannequin makes it look far worse than it is.

This is the same kit worn (without the design printed on it) on an actual olympic athlete

And here's a different option that women have for track and field

And here's what US Olympic pole vaulter had to say on the matter (the person wearing the kit in the first image)

I used to see ALL of Linford back in the day…

Nothing to see here. I know plenty of athletes including Keely and this isn’t an issue with them in the slightest. They have full choice in what they wear with all kinds of designs available.

    Looking forward to the Olympics.

That’s good to know, thank you. I didn’t realise that they had a choice.

I didn’t realise they had a choice. I thought it was like the women’s volleyball team (Norway, I think?) who were fined for refusing to wear it that time.

So 2020… they’ve not even changed the USA flag colours. Boring!

The athletes get customised fitted outfits too. The junior parkrun that I'm in charge of uses the track where the GB Triathletes train and I bumped into Georgia Taylor-Brown (Olympic gold medallist from Tokyo) who was charging her car there ahead of a trip to their 'fitting day' ahead of one of the major Championships.

Why is it that so many men on the BBS are seemingly unable to even talk about a woman without being a creep?
