Just sharing my thoughts on the results of this poll since its closure earlier today.

Approaching a 1/5th went for the early extension, maybe having concerns about the risks of delaying talks - it's a results business & Collins is on the verge of matching Duff's performance last season. If that's how you see it, then indeed 'why wait?'. Captain Hindsight is waiting to declare you're shrewd dudes :p

Probably no surprise that a Wembley win captured just over half of the votes - that's what gave me the greatest pleasure when creating the poll .... more scarf twirling to Zombie nation, "Reds are going up!", Cocoon Timerider, We Are the Champions .... and Mullered on the way home! :D
Shirley - don't call me Shirley - only fans with the coldest of hearts would begrudge giving Collins an extension when we reach that point.

Almost 30% going with the 'wait and see' is also no surprise, given the concerns over losing the players that WILL BE out of contract + wondering what backing Collins will get + how well he'll do with the resources he'll be given (as Herr Schopp would say, "und, und, und....." :))

Thanks to all that voted, but also those who didn't vote and respected the vibe

Let's see wot tomorrow brings. CYOR ... Neill Collins Red & White Army ... YOU REDS!!!

Where is the " Never" option?

    Hi DT.
This thread & poll is closed, so this is my last post here.
The reason I'm replying is cos DN6 asked the same question early doors & I'm sorry I didn't give him the courtesy of a reply... I don't frequent the BBS board & nothing personal.
In my OP, I hope it would be clear that this is complementing the 'Sack Collins?' poll.
When I voted there, the numbers were something like 160 against Vs 60 for.
The ratio for all such polls was about 2:1 & was roughly 70% against him being sacked before the disappointment of those last 2 away games
I was motivated by the 'when should Collins go?' poll, because that was closed to me as a No voter. I thought that was fine, as like Collins himself, I respect ALL our fans & BBS members ....we all want our team to be successful.
I don't think that Yes poll was designed as well as this one, in that it went for multiple votes & could create the impression that more BBS members want Collins to go, but just an opinion.
Finally, I sort of covered the Never option, by saying you just don't cast a vote.
The reason I was happy with the results was because I'd taken the 160 No voters as a maximum & recognised the majority just saw sacking as daft when we're in 5th place ("gone all Wendies" etc).
With that in mind, 50 was about my top end figure & 31 in the 2 day timeframe was great to see when I dropped in for the results.
So to summarise, 'when should Collins go?' is a thread for the 30-33% that wanted him sacked in the Yes/No poll & doesn't have an option to keep him beyond the End Of Season. This poll was similar, but for the 67-70% that didn't want him sacked.

    **** END OF THREAD ***** :D
