Match Day Mega Thread (Reading Home)

I thought that was odd too. Rushing the ball back to the centre spot why? It's not going to make Reading kick off any sooner. They will do so at their own pace and not because we are trying to rush them.

 

But to be fair, their pace was pacier than ours.

 

I personally think it’s individual errors. Nearly all our issues are from giving it away or getting done for pace or aerially.

Once Russell went off today I think Earl was the only outfield player above about 6 foot 1. Asking for trouble.

 

Most teams rush the ball back to centre spot.Nothing odd at all. It puts the onus on the ref to get the game restarted. What did you want us to do, sit down on the pitch until Reading were ready?

 

It doesn't make a difference to refs because they give time after a goal to celebrate. By the same onus when we let a goal in we should rush the ball back to the centre circle to try and kick off. But if we did that a ref wouldn't get our opponents to quit celebrating their goal and get a move on.

 

But the onus is on the ref to get them to get a move on. if one side are waiting to restart. It won’t stand out if both sides amble back.

 

Doesn’t frighten me,we’ve drawn with Bolton twice & beat derby once .

 

Yes but that was back when we were good.

 

When we faced them before we were playing well you can,t turn form on like a tap.

 

Collins frightens me more than Bolton and Derby. If we go for it we can beat anyone in this division.

 

Anyone explain how readings 2nd goal went in - down the middle of the goal yet Roberts no where near it. Seems yet another poor error from him.

 

It’s almost certainly a psychological thing. Like us saying we’re ready for another. It’s the opposite of how when a team is 2 up and they concede and the keeper or a defender holds onto the ball.
