Your Football is **** followed by an equaliser 20 seconds later where multiple subs he brought on were involved, was brilliant timing.
It really didn't feel that toxic to me from where i was sat. The players put the effort in and then the crowd got going towards the end. I enjoyed this match for the first time in a few, end to end with sides looking to score and Fabs first goal! .
I agree Helen.Plenty of effort and good to see us come back after going behind twice. Being on the run we are I thought there was more positives than negatives and its a slight move forward in getting some kind of form back.
Spot on. There's an entertainment element to football as well as a result element. People pay decent money for 90 minutes and are entitled to expect entertainment value for it. Sometimes circumstances and classy opponents mean the team can't shine all the time but week after week after week its been the same. Its awful and apart from very rare moments of fluidity or class (e.g. a great shot) extremely boring and frustrating. Collins' fault to a very large degree.
Gotta love a “better fan@ comment. Given our awful home form and dire performances o thought the atmosphere was pretty good. In the last 10 minutes when we switched to a more offensive game I’d even go as far as to say very good. The bottom line is people know when they are being served *****. Collins ball is so dire it’s all about results if they fail what do we have. A barely functioning defence one dimensional midfield and ponderous attack.
Simple..give me summat to cheer and I'll happily cheer..give me summat to sing about and I'll gladly sing..I won't ever chant negative crap or sing for somebody sacked ..
Well said that man, sorry person. I wasn't happy at the football in the first match v Port Vale. I said at the time that there was little in that game to excite me and I have seen very little since. From my seat in ESL the players do not look comfortable playing it out from the back in the manner they are asked to and this look of nervousness impacts negatively on the crowd. If playing out from the back was managed effectively the crowd would not respond like they sometimes do. I bought my ST for next year on day one and I do not want another year of boredom and boy as this year been boring. . The ball is quite clearly in the clubs court.
Imagine going to work and 10000 people telling you you’re doing a **** job AND expecting that will make you do it better.
Currently 19th in form table over the past 6 games. Absolutely shocking home record and a style of play that creates numerous opportunities for the away team to score - yeah wonder why fans are struggling to get behind them.
Collins deserves boot for this... "Barnsley will get at least the three points they need from three games to finish in the top six if they show the ‘attitude, character and intensity’ they displayed in a 2-2 home draw with Reading on Saturday." That indicates that he's looking to scrape play offs after being miles head rather than dominate games. He should be saying " were aiming to win all games"
The answer to your (reasonable) question, is because defensively we have been playing like that for the whole season and it has been disastrous. We have Defenders who are (presumably being told by the Coach) that they have the ability to play that way. I would suggest, that after 42 games the evidence suggests they don’t. So it’s not really about 4 minutes. On another note, the atmosphere away from home is no better than Oakwell. I was at Stevenage in the week and it felt like if the fans could have got hold of the players, they would have cheerfully given them a severe kicking for that performance.
Why on earth would he want that? I get the frustration but I doubt any manager in the world would scrap dominating and 'being miles ahead' for just 'scraping' through games. Makes absolutely no sense for us fans, the club, or himself... Crap like this, making stuff up, is why there's much more of a divide than there should be.
