But it isn't 10k fans is it. This talk of a toxic atmosphere, it simply isn't. Fans are disgruntled by the dirge they are being served at oakwell on a fairly regular basis and some make their voices heard, but it's hardly a wall of sound aimed at the team and management for the entirety of the game
The first game Collins had he literally got slated for his voice. Perhaps the writing was on the wall from day 1.
And that is ridiculous, I agree!. We've had many boring sounding managers over the years, but that doesn't prove a thing football wise, does it.
If we make the play-offs, which looks likely, though by no means certain yet, you have really no idea whether we'll get "embarrassed". Anything could happen. Bolton and Peterborough have both lost at home to bottom club, Carlisle. Their fans probably thought they'd been embarrassed then. If Carlisle can embarrass them, why can't we? Of the other clubs currently in play-off spots, we won at Oxford and got very creditable draws at both Peterborough and Bolton.
Shame Blackpool won though. If we don't win at Portsmouth (which we probably won't!), a defeat at Blackpool would mean we'd need something from the last game, possibly even a win, to be certain to finish ahead of Blackpool. It never looked like coming to that even a couple of weeks ago.
Yeah in fairness we shouldn't be in this position. From thinking about the runners up place, to worrying about missing out on the Play offs altogether. And this seems to have collapsed in these last two-three weeks.
