He's made himself look like a right pillock with that and he's bang out of order but I can honestly not think of Many examples of anything like that on here. Can you please provide some examples because while his post was idiotic and indefensible i also think you're wrong to call people bigots for not liking Wrexham
Do you actually know how many Welsh players/coaches/owners there are in the English football leagues ??? No thowt not.
If they follow their usual plan, they will assemble a squad of players with many recruited from leagues above their current level..
It doesn't matter if it's Wrexham or Worsbrough Bridge. There's something a little bit perverse about buying a football club, then bankrolling it to the top. If we fail in the play-offs, there's a real possibility that Wrexham will reach the Championship before we do. And even if we get there first, they'll follow us there soon afterwards and they will be richer and stronger than us. Not everyone can "do a Wrexham". When they bypass us - which looks inevitable to me - it will push us a little further down the footballing hierarchy. We're already close to the point where League One is our natural position. The Wrexham success story will make it a bit more of a reality. I hope the Wrexham fans are enjoying the ride, I really do. But I'm concerned about the wider implications on the sport, and about the direct effect on MY club. Hopefully none of the above makes me a bigot.
Yes a dastardly plan. Who would have thought of the cunning idea of bringing in better players. Swines!
as a fully paid up Welsh **** can I respond to your erudite (i think not!) post. English Footbll League founded in 1921. At this time no Welsh League so Cardiff City, Swansea and Wrexham joined the EFL. League of Wales established in in 1992 - became Premier league of Wales in 2002. Cardiff, Swansea and Wrexham declined an invitation to join. League of Wales matches have average attendances of about 400-500 joining would have meant financial ruin for these three Welsh Clubs. (League leaders The New Saints - (ground is in England) very rarely have attendances above 1000.) #64 - Redrum - you reference Rhyl F.C. The Club was wound up in 2020. However there is a new Club - CPD Y Rhyl 1879 in the lower Welsh Divisions. re Wrecsam - different peole have different views about the financing of football clubs. My view is that what McElhenney and Reynolds have done is brilliant for the Club and for the City. If you dislike CPD Wrecsam for the 'Hollywood' factor that is neither racist nor bigoted. Yma o Hyd!
The only reason I'm fed up of them is the way folk going on about 'the Wrexham fairy story' and the 'Wrexham underdog story' , as soon as those two took over with their existing money and their Hollywood pull to suck in money from merchandising and therefore attract players of a quality that wouldn't have given a second thought to the club, it was all the other teams that were the underdogs. Theres nothing wrong with what they have done and all clubs would have welcomed them with open arms, but please just call it what it is, they won the football lottery>
This is such a load of nonsense. Quite obviously people see Wrexham as having “bought” their “fairytale”. Stockport is far more of a “fairytale”. Maybe we should call you anti-English because you haven’t celebrated it? That’s how daft your argument is. For the record, I’m not fond of Cardiff. Not because I’m anti-Welsh, but because of the disgusting way some of their fans behaved at Wembley. I’m not fond of Millwall for similar reasons. By your logic I am anti English and anti Welsh.
I think you know that’s not true but you’ve taken a daft stance in this thread and a couple of others recently and now you’re digging yourself in.
Genuine question - happy to be educated here. Why do you refer to them as Wrecsam when the club refers to itself (at least on its official media platforms and club badge) as Wrexham? Is Wrexham a Welsh speaking stronghold?
Similar question @red-Taff any idea why they don't call themselves Wrecsam on their badge and official name and things? And have they ever?
Wrexham is English language version. K, Q, V, X and Z don't appear in Welsh language. C is Welsh K (always hard, never cee), so Wrexham becomes Wrec Sam.
Totally missed my point. My reasoning for not liking Cardiff / Millwall may be totally flawed, BUT it is not because I hate their nation. You seem ti be making that very assumption with several people on here.
Sorry Dragon Tyke but the anti English vitriol I’ve seen from every single welsh person I’ve ever come across will trump that; I have no doubt whatsoever. I suppose the lovely supporters of Cardiff, Swansea, Newport, Wrexham are always complimentary to their English opponents? The world is serially offended.
