You'd think with such a poor defence that we'd try to put the ball up the other end of the pitch wouldn't you
That’s true, and you’d think that would lead to a more attacking approach wouldn’t you? Not Mr Collins. When chasing a game yesterday, looking to win it from 1-1, our head coach brought off a wing back and brought on a centre back. We conceded within two minutes, then equalised pretty quickly - at which point the head coach turned to the west stand and let the supporters there know what he thought of them in let’s say robust language - as though he’d pulled off some kind of tactical masterstroke. I appreciate it won’t be nice hearing the ‘your football is ****’ song. But the solution to that probably isn’t to bring on an extra centre back, assume you’re right because we equalised with a header form a long throw (by the littlest lad on the pitch who was unmarked by the dross he was playing), against a team that were still flirting with relegation - then shout abuse back at a stand which as well as your target contained plenty, including kids, who were still clapping and cheering for you and your team.
Didn’t know about that, but it shows how desperate he’s become. You’ve got to wonder how he can control the team if he can’t control himself. I think he’s done a reasonable job to get this side into a playoff place and he was unlucky with Pines, but he doesn’t seem to have any ideas lately and losing control won’t help.
Isn't the use of such language within the stadium banned under the entry to ground rules and regulations with the perpetrator liable to a stadium ban. Maybe we should try that for the last game off the season against Northampton and if we win carry it on for the playoffs.
And yet guess who touched the ball most? That's right MDG. Second? Earl? In fact our goalkeeper passed the ball more than Russell/Jalo (combined), O'Keefe, Cadden, Cole or McAtee
And yet objectively he's the worst of the lot for errors and poor play leading to goal-scoring opportunities. Woeful lack of challenge to allow a free header for their first and then (and unfortunately typically) was waltzed around by their sub like he wasn't there for the apparent sitter that number 10 missed.
Bang average L1 CB at best.. lacks hight and pace. Pretty skillful with his feet sometimes but do you need a ball playing CB ?.. probably looked good on the computer..but way outwayed by the shortcomings.. Won't play above the level he is now .
No it's not a self-help group, it's a professional (meaning they get paid) football club. Not good enough, then move him on to a more suitable level..
Copped some abuse from some fans in the west so gave it back to them, fair enough in my opinion..........sithi.
A late equaliser against a team that were threatened with relegation justifies giving it the big one as though he’d proved them wrong does it? I’m not condoning abusing him from the stand. But you can’t just give it back as a professional. If a player had a pound coin or a lighter thrown at them from the stand, picked it up and threw it back, he’d get sent off and an extended ban. Collins turned and told the whole section of west lower to **** off - indiscriminately and not excluding the people in there that were cheering the team and him, the young kids in there - none of them. He was bang out of order. Sithi
Should have been gone long before yesterday then it would not have happened, over the years i have wondered how clubs can sack the managers with the team in play off positions, now i know his idea of attractive football is absolute sh--e
