Jon Stead had been given a 2 match touchline ban for being sent off at Charlton. Using abusive language to the referee. Tykes assistant Stead given two-game touchline ban - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68778176
With an allegation that Collins abused supporters on Saturday and stead being banned for abusing an official last week it's not a good look for the professionalism of our coaching team is it
Does it scream professionalism to you? Abusing match officials to the extent that you get fined for it and then abusing supporters? Is that something you approve of?
What’s the Collins allegation? If it’s the “fvck off” after we equalised, is that really classed as abuse?
Its unprofessional at the very least if accurate. A coach or anybody else in authority at the club just can't do that. The fact that there are loads of moronic 'supporters' out there is no excuse. You have to be professional in any formal role. At the least there should be an apology. I have nothing against Collins or Stead as blokes by the way. Its the position they have and the lack of discipline associated with it
Theres an old saying “dont give it out if you cant take it ”…..so in my book Collins just gave his abusers a bit back
Those criticising are probably the same people who if they stood there and just took it on the chin would question their passion and commitment. Generally I don't condone foul and abusive language but I can see how people express their emotions, especially when put under the pressure a number of our fan base put them under. Cut them some slack and let them get on with guiding us into the playoffs (hopefully)
He ought to be flogged within an inch of his life for swearing and/ or using abusive language at an official. I mean it’s not like a member of coaching staff of any club has ever done this before.
Correct mate, one of my pet hates is a manager who stands there emotionless on the touchline seemingly watching the game go by not arsed about the result, which is what Collins has looked like a few times this season. Which is why i don't mind Stead showing his frustration at the referring display or Collins shouting f*ck off when we equalise.
Yep. I fully endorse grown adults giving it back to other grown adults if they don't like what's been said to them. Applaud it even.
Tb f I'm sure the supporters were giving as good as they got! Don't think they shou!d complain, he's only human. As to Stead, as long as it's a one off, he won't be the first and certainly won't be the last.
He just shouldn't have used the words he used when there was you kids near the dug out he should be trying to set an example
We're gonna miss Stead. Forwards are going to be playing blind; where the hell are the goals and inspiration going to come from?
What does Stead bring ? He’s very quiet and fir an ex striker he’s not exactly bringing on our strikers is he?
