North Korea doesn't allow any political alternatives, even to the point of talking about thrm. So not sure it's a worthy comparison tbh.
Brilliant comparison, any other way of speaking or thinking is being suppressed. That's exactly my point of what is happening. For any people defending this type of action, be careful what you wish for. At some point in the future your views may not follow the narrative that fits the elite and when you are suppressed, don't complain. There is a massive difference between free speech and having different opinions than promoting violence and hate.
As for your posts. IMO what Hamas did was abhorrent and of course they should have been held to account in some way. But the weak leaders we have in the West headed by Biden gave Israel the wrong message with this blanket statement of support, saying it had a right to defend itself. What it doesn't have a right to do is basically try and wipe out the entire population, it's pretty obvious to what is happening. Any targeted, limited and considered response would have been accepted across the world as an act of self defence. But you cannot now claim that even though I agree Hamas are technically a terrorist group, Israel are now the aggressors.
My point is that this is not North Korea. The analogy is way off the mark and one action by a mayor is hardly a sign of draconian end of times. I hear Putin's mate Orban was turning up. Quite ironic Farage and Braverman should be complaining given the way he's curtailed press freedom and democracy in Hungary. Nobody needs to hear his ******** to be fair.
It's a group of people who I generally find extremely unpleasant standing around spouting views that I mostly think are abhorrent. I make no apology for stating that I wouldn't allow it to happen on my watch, or in my premises! Like I say, on balance I think the mayor probably shouldn't have got involved.
Anyway, like I said I am pretty much on the centre of the political divide and would have said exactly the same if it was a Labour party conference that got shut down. Either way it's wrong. Then the far right would be justifying it because the governing body of the Labour party is the NEC which means they are governed by Nat C's.. Yeah right. Only then would I say, yeah but the Labour party aren't really left wing to be fair, their just ATM a less sleazy Conservative light. Now on to more serious things and Barnsley securing play offs with a 1-2 win down in Pompey.
Oh, and I'm very much not in the centre and am still teetering on the edge of voting conservative for the very first time in my life next month. There's a lot of soul-searching to be done before I get there, but I'd say at this point there's a non-zero probability! Individual people who identify as conservative aren't really the problem - my suggestion is that that the characters who are at this conference are a completely different beast, and when it comes to them I'm happy to be up front with and proud of my intolerance.
I think it’s a massive conspiracy, the Brussels Mayor said he was going to ban the Blue Fromage Conference because of the smell
