That's the spirit. If we got to Wembley I'd like to hear a full 90 minutes of booing to gee the lads along.
This might attract some vitriol but another year in div 1 might not be a bad thing unless the owners change direction and speculate the 8 mill and a bit more to strengthen the squad for the championship because otherwise it would be a disaster.
Could go either way Saturday, which screams out draw to me. Pressure will be on Northampton game as I think Lincoln will pick up three points.
Barnsley will win on Saturday. You heard it here first. Collins saw his team largely outplay Pompey last night and if he's learned from that they'll win as I say...
Agree, I would rather us stay down than go up with this squad, we would lose the out of contract players regardless, so would need significant investment into the squad to even try & attempt to avoid relegation. It’s better to slowly build & go up with momentum to carry into the next season, much like when we went up in 2016. We would be the whipping boys next season if we went up.
On the other hand, we'll almost certainly have a better squad next season if we are in the Championship than if we are still in League One.
The whipping boys with £8m additional money and better players recruited to compete at the top end of L1 if we did go back down. The alternative is a much weaker squad in L1 next year with the inevitable financial losses incurred. Plus L1 will be a lot stronger next season with those coming down and promoted sides like Wrexham (with Disney’s backing) and Stockport on a roll. Also expect Charlton, Wigan and Reading to be a threat along with whoever loses in the playoffs. Wanting promotion this year is a no brainer. Looking highly unlikely at the moment….
Look don't get me wrong , I hope we win the playoffs and stay in the Championship for a good long time even another visit to the Prem would be great but the spreadsheet plan has to change
totally agree. I also think finishing 4th bottom in the championship isn’t as tough as top 2 in league one
