https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/...e-title-presentation-over-crowd-fears-4596695 Soooo looked into...nothing to see here, well that's fair enough!
Was Mccart actually 'hit' by fans? As in deliberately? The video looks to me more like he was simply ran into by someone in a crowd who then seemed to stumble and lose his balance after too. That's how it looks to me but I'm not saying it's what happened because it's all a bit too crowded for me to pick anything out clearly
That's not what the article says though. "In addition, the FA are investigating Tuesday night’s pitch invasion and individual incidents which happened on the pitch after the final whistle." It's still under investigation.
Ah…. You must have more information than me. Could you post it? I was under the impression that there is no investigation by the Hampshire Police as neither Barnsley FC nor individual players have made an allegation of assault. If a criminal assault had taken place and the Club (or the players concerned) had not reported it, that in itself would be hugely negligent to say the least. I’m also not aware of any investigation by the football authorities into any criminal assault. I appreciate this may have changed so if anyone has any facts rather than conjecture, I’d be keen to see them.
This piece in The Chronicle does appear to suggest some sort of investigation is taking place: https://www.barnsleychronicle.com/article/28007/reds-contacted-over-pitch-invasion-incident I've watched the footage in HD. A Portsmouth fan collides with a Barnsley player and leads with his arm which makes contact with the Barnsley player's head. I can't tell if the Portsmouth fan is genuinely trying to prevent two people crashing into each other, or if he's punching the Barnsley player. I hope it's the former and it's just an accident.
The EFL tell me it is not their responsibility crowd trouble or safety it is down to the FA, but yet they want to give the title trophy to Portsmouth tomorrow but won't if they invade the pitch again, so they like dictating but disappear when there is trouble, they won't do anything about referees in the EFL leagues, that is down to the PGMOL, so what exactly do the EFL do apart from draw the cream off the top and pocket the money, we complain about UEFA but our lot are as bad if not worse. They are going to kill the beautiful game
I bet they would have if it had been the other way round, we all know the EFL are a disgrace, and most of the police just want an easy life
