Based on what I'm watching today and recently I will not be renewing my season ticket. I will not be going next Saturday and the way I feel right now I don't give a monkey's whether we get in the playoffs or not. Dummy is now well out of the pram. Does anyone blame me ? This, today, has put the top hat on my support of the whole rotten lot.
It's an entertainment and results driven business football, if one is lacking its a problem, if both are lacking then people will turn away in droves. Then, surely, the board have to act - and I would say that whether we make the play offs or get promoted (hahaha) or not. Collins is just a poor, poor manager - his football is crap, he's drained the life from all of the players that shone last season (not that they're blameless) and I don't want him here whatever division we're in next season.
I've defended Collins and the team most of the season. I've tried to be patient and tried to encourage that in others but since Lincoln my good will has slowly but surely evaporated. I'm unlikely to renew my ticket, which is a shame as it's time I get to spend with my son. I'm sure he'll continue to go but as things stand I'm not sure I can justify the cost (both in terms of the ticket, the food and drink and the time that could be better spent) for something that brings me little to no joy. I genuinely cannot remember the last game that I came away from feeling positive, as though I'd enjoyed the experience. What makes it worse is that the early bird deadline is before the final fixture next weekend.
I really hope we don't fluke the playoffs now if we were that lucky to get promoted we would be the laughing stock because we wouldn't change anything
Same. Looking forward to next season more than next Saturday. Next Saturday will be nervy whereas next season I can pretend there’s optimism.
Not really though is it? Simple statement of fact. It's supposed to be through 'thick and thin', which is why I'll be there next season regardless.
No one can defend that today. We were like a pub side first half. If we’d been 5-0 down no one could’ve complained. We were an embarrassment. He simply has to go ASAP.
Id agree with that and the biggest frustration for me is that we've got some good players that are more than capable of playing entertaining football.
I’ve been deluded as you say for over 60 years at Oakwell and it’s been some of my happiest times of my life I think I’ll carry on thanks
Why do you go to games/support a team then? Not wanting to make the play-offs beggars belief, it really does
Simples, don’t go, and those who want to go will. You don’t have to call people deluded because they want to continue to go.For most fans, we go in hope not expectation.
