Has he gone yet?

That is something that I'm still unclear on as well. Are they Collins' signings, or are they all down to these clueless owners and their spready sheety thing.
For me, as much as I know I/we can't really defend Collins anymore.. I say that it goes way above him to be honest.

But there's really no benefit letting him go now, see the season out whether that includes playoffs or not then get rid.

 

I have defended Collins in the past, on the basis that he didn't personally sign our very ineffective defenders, but I now think he has to shoulder a fair bit of the blame. We keep making the same types of errors at the back, we keep faffing around, inviting pressure and never seem to learn from our mistakes. There is little, or zero, evidence of any proper coaching having gone on. Average players can be welded together to form a competent defensive unit, if they have been coached well.

Yeah Dev, I agree with that, and I have done for weeks now.
As hard as it is with this horrible football right now under Collins. There really is not much to gain by sacking him now at this stage of the season, and then just hoping for the best.

 

Not a fan of collins but the signings are baffling. Their is 0 balance in the squad and their hasn't been since match day 1.

We have been carried by certain individuals and its caught up to us. I'm only 31 but I've seen us in much worse positions on and off the field than now.

All this "I'm not renewing" is pathetic and I'm not a collins fan or I'm not a fan of the board but some of the abuse I've seen is absolutely pathetic.

Regardless of what we think, someone may be impressed with his first year in the EFL, especially if we make the playoffs. We could actually get compo for him.

Well it's factual if nothing else. 81 goals scored. That's not the problem. Don't recall those teams getting slagged for being "insiped". As I've previously said it's been OK, not better than that not worse. Lincoln this week scored 4, 6 points. We have scored 6, 1 point. Defence terrible and while partly down to NC I'd put more on the board for the summer recruitment replacing 3 quality centre halves with lopata, Shepherd and McCart. MDG, Pines and Earl jury out. Others not at this level (yet in Shepherds case - very happy to give him benefit of the doubt).

 

Our defence was better when we played the defenders we have out on loan.

 

Lopata - unused sub as Vale got relegated
Shepherd- 57th min sub as Cheltenham all but relegated

They were never the answer.....
