I have at times a vivid imagination and I’ve been using it to imagine that the team get inspired. They beat Northampton on Saturday, narrowly get through to Wembley and win the final. Is all forgiven?
Not thinking about people who express an opinion Skinner, more the head coach, players, board. We are still in with a chance, even if it’s a dog’s.
We've got enough match winners in our team to win the playoffs so it's up to Collins to find a way of getting them involved in games for 90 minutes and if he does that then him and everyone involved deserve credit for it.
If we are able to get through this successfully or not I don`t think it`s a matter of forgiving anything but you would hope that the things that haven`t been good this year are put right going forward wherever we are.
Starting with the board scapping the recruitment policy of scattergun signings then loaning them out. Quality signings that will improve the squad today, not In 3 seasons time. Get 4 quality signings not 10 to develop .
To be honest that puts the fear of God up me. We would then have the impossible task of building a squad capable of competing in the championship on at best a shoestring budget. How many genuine championship level players will we have in the summer three or four a fully fit which is far from certain Connell ,Pines and potentially Jalo and Phillip's. I fear we would be down quicker the Rotherham and there's no fun in that.
If we go up it’s a big well done from me but the dummy chucking fans won’t be happy at being denied a MASSIVE tantrum session
Need to go back to recruiting best in league 1 and 2. The days when we bought such as Mawson, Scowen, Winnall etc. The focus was on cherry picking the best players/captains from lower leagues and not just taking young players that weren’t quite ready.
Nothing to forgive, its a game of football and will be next season and the season after etc.Would love to be in the Championship next season but if not que sara .
I agree with this. I would start with Bosun Laval from Celtic at loan at Fleetwood, who had a great game against us as holding midfielder and scored a blinding goal. I would be in for Gassan Ahadme from Cambridge United as replacement on the assumption that Cole does move on. I would also look at Max Dean at MKD, who is yet young and has been knocking them in for fun this season. None of these might cost a bomb and all could be within our budget, especially if some, or all the out of contract players leave. Any other suggestions of good league one players in positions we need?
A lot on here said we wouldn`t even reach the play offs before a ball was kicked so if we can finish top 6 then I`d say mission accomplished.
I liked the LWB for Exeter bags of pace and could beat a man which are things that we lack, might be a good signing for L1
Good points players like Shaw dallas and watters were wasted signings and we should have brought in strikers to help the club now instead there either loaned out or behind a 18 year old in the peking order. Watters especially came with alot of optimism on this board.
What or who are we forgiving? The board for sticking with these data driven signings? The head coach/manager for serving up dire football and blowing the chance of automatics and still not certain of a play off spot? The players for being a let down and not fulfilling their potential and having a questionable attitude at times?
The problem is this year the board have fetched in a number of players who are in their mid 20's and halfway through their careers they've done nothing at all of note, even in lower league or Scottish football to suggest future promise.
