I’m very surprised at this. I fully expected him to leave, but not before Saturday. It’s a really ‘last resort’ move, given it’s going to cost us money, and the responsibility is squarely on the players now to get us over the line. Hope it works.
I just can’t think how him not being in charge on Saturday makes much of a difference now at this late stage - what can they coach differently in 4 days? players leaving are leaving. only diff for me is that the fans and atmosphere maybe will be better if things don’t go as hoped from the start. 3/4 games ago might have been more of a gamble for them but they could have justified it with the awful form, and it may have given someone the time to influence it and just get the points needed - 4 days and 1 game left just seems a bit pointless tbh
