Leam Richardson long term anyone? Maybe not for this season? Likes to play the press, knows the league and used to being at ‘unfashionable’ clubs & available.
Obviously we’d take Duff if there was any chance. Same with Hecky, but he won’t come back. Warnock? For 4 games, apart from Duff he’s the best option!
Duff .... NOW. He probably believed what he said when he first came to us. What happened if the club lied to him about what he'd have to work with. Wouldn't you walk out?
Didn't Nathan Jones do a runner the 2nd time too? That's what I'm weary of with Duff. I'd still have him like, so long as he doesn't trot out any long haul stuff. So my order of preference is 1) Duff 2) Stendel 3) Hecky 4) Val And yes, they are all past managers. But at least we know what we are gunna get playing/entertainment wise. If they'd come back of course.
Can't see Duff coming back because of his jumping ship antics. Warnock for potentially 4 games when he doesn't know the players looks dodgy to me. It'll have to be Devaney I think simply because he's there. Whether or not he is any good or can motivate and get them playing in the short time he's got is another matter.
I think we ought to not pin our hopes on someone being in for last game/play offs. Devaney gets the gig for me, or at least makes the lions share of the decisions if someone comes in on the side ready for next season. Don't think we could have any new bloke in place (even duff) to quickly put a game plan together in time for Saturday and/or playoffs
Playoffs possibly. Most managers have, at some point, got to start work with a struggling squad and a couple of days until the first game...
We’ll end up with 5th choice a week before the first game next season with our track record. Don’t have any trust in these charlatans
Hecky isn’t coming back. I’ve agreed do @Terry Nutkins ‘ gardening round his house for the next decade if it happens, and I can’t even be arsed to do my own gardening.
I would imagine that Devaney will be in charge for our remaining games. If its one and done, then that's self explanatory. If we win on Saturday then they'll give him the playoffs, knowing that if we lose then it's Collins fault.
Yes, he did. But he left the club in a much better state than when he took over. Duff may well leave again and it's something we'd have to bear in mind. But at this particular juncture, the long-term consequences of the appointment aren't exactly first and foremost. Right now, we literally need to win our next game, then not lose any of the 3 after that!
Why is Heckingbottom the saviour all of a sudden ? The consensus of the BBS was that it was Lee Johnson who got us promoted, PH simply kept the momentum going (not something I agree with btw)
