Apparently few weeks before end of season the players organised to strike in protest against his tactics and GG had to step in to diffuse.
It sounds like a very lazy newspaper rumour, given our previous 'connection' to Oostende. It also sounds very Barnsley.
It’s all about being at the right club at the right time a mean most of our successful managers have left us and done bugger all elsewhere so if it is to be this Austrian bloke then he deserves a chance just like we gave Stendel and Big Val .
What you mean? Because the last Austrian head coach was useless means any other Austrian head coach would be also?
I'd say our Germanic coaches have been good with the exception of Schopp. Stendel, Struber, Ismael...
Has nobody mentioned that he may have been lined up for Ten Hag's position, otherwise he would've flown into Leeds-Bradford?
Nothing to do with his nationality. What about this guy's experience inspires? What suggests he'll be able to drag us out of this league? Why is his CV any better than Collins'? What I mean is, why do we have to take a punt on an unknown when our club is bleeding money and the fans are turning away in droves. And when there's managers with decent experience out there we could at least try and get (that will at least unite the fanbase).
Trying to unite the fan base in this day and age is futile. We need results and given that Collins got us to 5th and still couldn't win over the fans, we need to make sure the next appointment is the best man for the job, regardless of nationality, knowledge of "the league" or whatever. The fact remains that if the first half of the season was the second, and vice versa, Collins would not have been sacked. It's the decline in performances that have done for him, not league position.
Look at his last 3 appointments! ******* hell, he's used to short tenures so he'll fit right in here Alternatively he's coming in to manage Barnsley FC Ladies given his experience with the Austrian women's team
Well, in my opinion, looking at this guy's CV, I just don't see how he's the best man for the job. I just don't get how we always find folk like this. Sure, recruit 10, you'll get a few that'll do something. But let's not forget Asbaghi, Morais, Schopp.. and now Collins. I also thought Struber was gash as well. Just my opinions anyway. If we appoint him and he does well, I'll be first to say I got it wrong.
