Seems to work alright for Peterborough !.Duff would have had a release clause in his contract which Swansea activated. It's business like I've said before Duff isn't a Barnsley ladies a job to him He left for a bigger club and treble wages.I would have no issue with reappointing him.

Why would he come back for less wages? He’ll get another tilt at a Championship club, or a big club who gets relegated to League One.
His compensation will probably stop when he gets another job.

We're very limited I'm afraid there are certain groups of head coaches/ Managers only available to us.

    Group 1
Under contract at clubs and not looking to move.

    Group 2
Under contract at clubs with significant compensation

    Group 3
Can't afford salary unrealistic and not willing to join us.

    Group 4
Could possibly afford salary but would want signifanct transfer funds.

    Group 5
Could afford salary potentially interested but want to be a manager and have control on transfers.

    Group 6

Interested in joining happy to work under a DOF but want full control on tactics and style

    Group 7

Out of work, used to working under DOF and happy to be told how we are going to play, turns up and put the cones out and shouts from the touchline at weekends and sometimes midweek

As far as I can see we've only realistically got Group 7 to pick from until things above change.

It is was it is we might get a good one, we might get a bad one, only time will tell

why would we want one **** manager with no experience of managing in the EFL replacing with another?

Really cannot understand the board's thinking on this, if it proves to be true. The best appointment we made in recent years was Michael Duff because he knew League One well already and had succeeded within it. He also had good contacts with other EFL teams at higher and lower levels, with whom he could negotiate for players like Adam Phillips and Bobby Thomas - good players who improved the team in positions which we needed. I can't help thinking that he also identified players like Nicky Cadden and Robbie Cundy. I know that Cundy has been cursed with injury, but he does have experience at the higher level of Championship and Cadden turned down other clubs to sign for Duff with us. If Talhammer is appointed, are we to get more Oulares and Ritzmaiers? They just don't seem to make the transition. I would have thought that the appointments of the likes of Morais, Schopp and Asbaghi would be enough of a warning to focus on managers who actually do know the EFL and have good contacts with other EFL teams. Duff would still be my number one choice, but it may be that we are water under the bridge to him. I am actually hoping that a) the rumour isn't true, or b) the work permit obstacle prevents it happening. I wouldn't say no to Richie Wellens, as Leyton Orient have punched above their weight this season.

From what i hear it’s true. In the stands for Saturday taking over with next season or in play offs. Uninspiring and left field and not the experience we were looking for but it is what it is. Hope he’s on a 1 year rolling contract as always gets sacked eventually.

Does his previous teams try to piss around at the back for half an hour with the ball?

If they didn't at least it's a start

I totally get that, I'm not naive to think we'd be going for some top head coach but the timing of the Collins sacking was completely abysmal. The record for this new guy looks extremely poor. Hope those wanting Collins out are happy. I can just imagine the meltdowns when it dawns on some of the thickos that we don't have a pot to piss in.
